I woke up this morning with ABBA's "Take a Chance on Me" bopping in my head and I had to giggle. Who would have thought Angela would become such a hot ticket at Dunder-Mifflin? I enjoyed this week's episode of "The Office" well enough, but I'm still not digging the hour-long episodes, and this week's felt like it dragged a little.
In this episode, all the Dunder-Mifflin offices are celebrating the launch of the company's website (Dunder-Mifflin Infinity) with separate parties that will communicate through an online video chat. In other news, Dwight is determined to sell more paper than the website does, prompting Jim and Pam to play another of their infamous pranks. Oh, and Michael holds a pizza delivery kid hostage in the conference room.
For some of my favorite parts of the episode, and to add your own (spoilers ahead!), read more
- Jim signing Meredith's diaper-type cast is a great way to start the episode.
- I loved all of Michael's derogatory remarks about Angela's petite size, from calling her "pipsqueak" and "booster seat" to mimicking a sign by a roller coaster: "If you are not this tall, you may not ride the roller coaster."
- Michael: "Well the website is the brainchild of my brainchild, Ryan. It is my brain grandchild."
- I might be alone in this sentiment, but I really love the storylines involving Phyllis. I love that she Googled tips on dealing with difficult people because of Angela. And then she throws the Post-It notes at Angela's face! "That shut up her up!"
- Dwight asks "the computer": "How do I know this isn’t Jim?"
To which "computer" responds: "What is a Jim?" - Dwight: "I have been salesman of the month for 13 out of the last 12 months. You heard me right.. I did so well last February that corporate gave me two plaques in lieu of a pay raise." He holds up the plaques to either side of his face.
- Jim and Pam say "not it" at the same time to get out of taking Michael’s other ticket to the party.
Pam: "I won."
Jim: "If anything, it was a tie."
Pam: "Tie goes to the girlfriend." - Dwight types: "Here’s a suggestion, computer. I assume you read binary so why don’t you 0110111101101011."
Jim: "Okay. While you were typing that I searched every database in existence and learned every fact about everything. And mastered the violin. Oh! And sold more paper." - Dwight: "Dammit Kelly, it knows! It knows what you did!"
Darryl: "Hey, how about instead of yelling at our sweet old miss Kapur over 500 sheets of paper you get back to your desk, start selling multiple reams, like a man." Then, to Kelly, "So you still missing Ryan?"
Kelly: "Not so much anymore." - Angela: "How do you tell someone it’s over? You send them a notarized letter, right? Well, what if the recipient is your notary?"
- Andy: "They say you should never mix business with pleasure. Really. Well explain to me how a putt-putt golf company operates."
- Dwight says he knows the pizza delivery kid because he steals Dwight's hemp.
Pizza kid: "Yeah I know that guy. He’s the farmer who grows really crappy weed." - Michael: "I am not kidnapping him. I’m keeping him until I get what I want."
- Michael says to Ryan on the video chat, "Hey I just think you should know that one of my salesmen beat your stupid computer. So take that a—hole."
- Andy sings "Take a Chance on Me" with two of his friends singing backup on speakerphone! I just had to write about that again because it kind of made my week.

Great episode! I agree about the hour long dragging by a bit this week though. I liked it at first but I think it's a bit hard for them to keep up the momentum of the show for that long. I thought it was sweet how Pam aka the computer conceded defeat to Dwight at the end of the contest. I also loved Andy (and his backup singers) serenading Angela! Classic!
1I think Angela might actually take a chance on Andy. You could tell that she liked the serenade. And isn't it interesting how, when Jim and Michael were driving from Scranton, PA to NYC, the Eastern U.S. in no way resembles Southern California.
2I thought this episode dragged SO MUCH. They really need to get back to 30-minute episodes.
My favorite part was the very beginning, with the screen saver on the DVD player. That cracked me up.
The diaper cast was funny, too.
I also liked when Andy sang, although I hate ABBA and the song has been stuck in my head all day.
3Oh, and I thought Phyllis was funny in this episode, too.
4I LOVEEEe THE OFFICE. BJ Novak plays the perfect ass boss and I love that all the characters are coming out of their shells a little bit more now. i do love an hour of the office, but yeah it's dragging a little bit.
5While the whole Jim/Pam thing NAUSEATES me to no end, I loved loved LOVED the prank they pulled on Dwight.
6Any opportunity to swoon over Jim is fine by me. The diaper cast is now my official top moment in Office history.
7I thought this was one of the funniest episodes I've seen! An hour drags a bit, but it's worth the trade off for more funny-ness...
Also. I love how cute Jim and Pam are! When most TV couples spend a lot of time and anticipation flirting, they are boring when they finally get together (cough*Meredith and Derek*cough) ...But I think Jim and Pam are cuter than ever!
8they are going back to 30 minute episodes after next week. i heard that they were going to do hour long episodes the whole season but thankfully that didnt happen. its just so much funnier when its 30 minutes!!
9That's good news about the 30 minute episodes! I agree with everyone, this epi did drag a little bit. My favorite part too was in the beginning, the screen saver for the DVD player trying to tell when the box would hit the corner!!
sooo funny, since I always do that too!
Oh, I loved the part too when Dwight was trying to intimidate the pizza delivery kid, by going up to him and popping that balloon with his hands in the kid's face! Small part I know, but still just a typical dumb silly Dwight thing!
10I am not a big fan of Andy, never really warmed to him, but I think he's suppose to be that way. But that is all over now, I LOVED the phone serenade if you can call it that. Second funniest moment ever, the first being all the pranks Jim and sometimes Pam pull on Dwight, those are always genius and hilarious.
11i really need to start watching this show! i watched a tad bit last night and it looked pretty good!
12Buzz you forgot to mention when Jim and Michael are in the car and Michael says the "VIP" party is at a club called Chat Room where you need a password to enter, and without a word Jim immediately put his turn signal on to go back to Scranton.
13Definitely loved, loved, loveeed Phyllis and her google searched tips for dealing with Angela, "How does that make you feel?"...and another one of my favorite parts was Darryl in general...both his comment about selling paper like a man to Dwight and his "mmmmm" to Kelly...I hope him and Kelly have a lil thing, that would be really entertaining.
14LOL @ "Dwight asks "the computer": "How do I know this isn’t Jim?"
To which "computer" responds: "What is a Jim?""
I love dwight hahaha
15I loved the episode. Phyllis's part was great, I thought.
16I think Michael's webcast announcement topped by Kelly smushing the pizza in Ryans face on the screen was one of the funniest things I have seen on the show. I was killing myself laughing, and laugh everytime I think about it.
And so far I think they are handling the Jim and Pam thing okay, its still cute, not nauseating to me yet.
The cast signing was pretty magical, but it's definately a little drawn out when the episodes are an hour. The "tie goes to the girlfriend" quote was cute.
17I absolutely adored this episode.
The bear horn whenever Dwight made a sale?
AWESOME.
Also...Ed Helms singing is always high-larious.
18It was so funny (and gross) when Meredith had Jim sign her cast!
And poor Dwight is starting to look really depressed, what with the stubble and all.
19this show is so funny to me... I do like how it's an hour long now
20this was probably the funniest one of all three so far this season.
21I kind of like the hour long but there were times i started drifting off and trying to do other things. But other than that, it was pretty darn funny.
i loved this episode !
22I agree, the best par was the conference room in the beginning. Everyone so excited because of the screen saver... I was going strong but my bro totally lose it, so , I lose it too
And yeah, Andy singing to Angela was really really sweet. And the Ice he bring for her to the party, he is really getting my vote.
for someone who is supposed to be dumb and childish, Andy really bring his game up this time, he show so much cleverness...
23Seriously the back up speaker singers was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also loved Phyllis throwing the post it notes at Angela.
I missed the pranks that Jim pulled on Dwight so it was great to see that one
24Seriously, all of you people who put down the Office's hour long episodes obviously have no sense of humor. There is NO way that these episodes drag. I wish they were ALL an hour! A half hour is WAY WAY too short!!
25I honestly think that Jim and Pam getting together is going to ruin the show. Sigh. I guess it just won't have as awesome of an ending as the british version
26This was a great great great episode! I'm busting up laughing reading all the comments.
Couple of other things to add to the list:
1. Michael's European-cut shirt
2. Stanley dancing to the website's music
The hour-long episodes are really just 2 half-hour shows. So watch it 30 minutes at a time and stop complaining. You'll miss them when they're gone.
27Oh, and the "Lunch Party" banner.
28i agree that it drags a little... i'm ready for the 30 minute episodes again. i think they find the best funny during that
29i don't think the hour drags. i love all the subtle funny parts with each character. and as much as this show is based off the British version, i'm tired of people comparing the two. just let this one be what it is on its own, then you'll enjoy it a lot more. (in other words, pam and jim are still awesome!)
30it can stay a hour every week, and you'd never hear me complain! I love this show, and I loved the British version too. I too cracked up when Kelly rubbed the pizza on Ryan's TV face
And I was kinda hoping Michael would keep on the purple shirt!
31"What is a Jim?" That was classic.
32I could watch hour long episodes fo the office every hour of every day!
33I loved the entire show...I don't mind the hour episodes!!
34The part w/ the pizza kid dragged a bit though...
this episode was hilarious! Dwight is too funny he really lives in his own planet where there are heroes that kill people and have powers...lmao!!! But I too can watch the Office episodes all day this a great show
