Just as everyone's chattering away about this week's premiere of "Pushing Daisies," how colorful, whimsical and Tim Burton-esque it is, we finally get a full-length trailer for an actual Tim Burton project: Sweeney Todd!
The trailer looks ridiculously amazing. It's dark, beautiful, ominous, sad, creepy... and then Johnny Depp breaks into song. Helena Bonham Carter is haunting as usual, and Sacha Baron Cohen looks fantastic. Depp plays Sweeney Todd whose life is destroyed by a mean old judge (Alan Rickman). When he gets out of prison, Sweeney Todd becomes a barber bent on revenge.

who knew johnny depp could sing. movie preview looks top-notched. i'm also a tim burton fan so i'll in line for this when it comes out.

2I saw the Broadway version of Sweeney Todd (with Miss Thang, Patti Lupone) 3 times and am in love with it.
Tim Burton is my most favorite, and I own everything he's ever done.

5No, no, KACIEJPC, Burton doesn't direct "Pushing Daisies," but the tone of that show leads a lot of people to favorably compare it to stuff that Burton has done, like Big Fish. Sorry for the confusion!
6oh. sweet mother of mercy i am SO EXCITED about this movie. i have said it before and i'll say it again - it's pretty awesome to be living in the age of the movie musical revival.

36I'm really excited by this movie. I don't Sweeney Todd had any sort of revenge reason, though, that involved a wife and child. From what http://www.crimelibrary.com/serial_killers/weird/todd/bogeyman_1.html says, Sweeney Todd was real and was simply your average psychopathic killer with no main motivations beyond liking killing people, an extreme sense of entitlement and a lust for money.

40KACIEJPC, Yes Tim Burton and Stanky McStankerson aka Helena Bonham Carter (who generally looks homeless when spotted on the streets) have been together for quite some time. I believe they have two boys now if Im not mistaken.
Tim Burton=Good times. yes, he did Big Fish - there's always Edward Scissorhands, The Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas (my favorite) - he did old stuff like PeeWees Big Adventure, Batman - all kinds of stuff.
