The movie doesn't open until January 11, 2008 but we already have a trailer for Katherine Heigl's next romantic "comedy," 27 Dresses. She plays a woman who has been a bridesmaid 27 times and, surprise surprise, never a bride. It appears that her tendency to be kind of a doormat has something to do with her getting stepped on a lot.

hmm. i'd probably just rent it, but i love James Marsden
1this is unbelievable. I mean you would think after the 10th time you have been a bridesmaid you could just say no to the others...and plus how many friends do she have. i'm sure you just want to be a bridesmaid for the ones you're very close to. if you agreed to be a bridesmaid to a friend you're not close with you should say no. and yes she's suppose to be a doormat but i think every doormat has their limits especially putting themselves in an embarrassing situation of being a bridesmaid 27th times.
as much i don't like KH after the rave she got in knocked up she should start picking her roles carefully, ones with substance preferably. or maybe going down the path of cheesy rom-com is the way to go for her. i doubt it i think she thinks she's too cool for that.

21as much as i'm annoyed by katherine heigl (can't put my finger on it!) i think she has the potential to be one of those long-running romantic comedy leading ladies a la bullock or diaz minus the goofiness. she's girl next door enough to act normal and funny without being too wacky. she DID NOT deserve her emmy over Oh because her dramatic skills are lacking. I'd love to see her in a gritty indie and see if she could hack it.

More than likely if this is coming out now she took the role before the success of Knocked Up. I wouldn't doubt that she'll choose her movie roles more carefully now...but why begrudge her for something she did months ago?? Why would this make her too cool??
