In a slightly surprising turn of events, the third Resident Evil movie, Resident Evil: Extinction, took the No. 1 spot at the box office this weekend, beating out Good Luck Chuck by quite a bit. Still, Chuck did manage to make $14 million over its first weekend and came in second place. The Brave One continues to do well, holding steady at No. 3, followed by 3:10 to Yuma in fourth place and Eastern Promises rounding out the top five movies of the weekend.

Sydney White, bringing in the younger crowds, came in at No. 6 with just over $5 million. Mr. Woodcock followed behind with Superbad, The Bourne Ultimatum and Dragon Wars completing the top ten. This coming weekend we'll see if love beats evil when Feast of Love opens nationwide.

I saw Sydney White. It was cute. I just kept thinking throughout the whole film of Amanda Bynes and if I have ever seen her ears. I have an issue with Amanda and her hair. She needs to tuck it behind her ears! I did manage to catch a glimpse of her [huge] ears at one point during the movie. So, maybe that's why she hides 'em?
1I saw Resident Evil 3 with my brothers on Saturday and loved it!! True it will not get any points for the dialogue, but the action was FANTASTIC.
2i can't wait to see resident evil. i think i'm gonna rent it though.
3I saw Mr. Woodcock and was disappointed. There were laugh out loud moments for sure, but not even close to what I expected.
