Score one for the Gilmores!
Lauren Graham of the late, lamented "Gilmore Girls" has just signed a seven-figure development deal with NBC.
What does that mean?
It means that NBC will be creating a new series with Graham as the lead, and the network is currently on the hunt for writers to work with her. Variety called the deal "one of the year's richest TV talent pacts."
Why so much money?
According to Variety, Graham had been in demand in Hollywood ever since the cancellation of "Gilmore Girls," largely because she could headline either a comedy or a drama. From a fan's perspective, I have to agree with that; she moves so easily between laugh-out-loud humor and quiet, tender moments.
Did I mention she's funny?
Here's one of her quotes following the deal: "Also, after having spent so many years representing the frog on the WB, I am especially comforted to be part of the only other network with an animal mascot."

15YAY!!! this is certainly good news for me and any lauren/gilmor girls fan. hmm....maybe i should apply for the position of writing. that would be so mich fun.
with that said, what about the other half of gilmore girls? do you what's going with alexis, buzz? with the news of hayden and milo being a couple i guess this mean she and milo (from heroes) are over. boo!
16This makes me so happy! Lauren has the whole package--she's only gotten more beautiful as Gilmore Girls went on, and she comes off as incredibly witty. She can deliver lines better than so many others on television and I'm so glad that she's coming back!!

22I really liked her because she seemed fun and down-to-earth, until last year when my best friend was an extra on Evan Almighty, and she overheard LG commenting about how all the extras were "such maggots." Ew!
23I am so glad to hear Lauren will be back on tv. She is so talented and should have received an Emmy for her work on GG!
24i think that's great news - she's really funny - and they are right - she can take on a dramatic role and still succeed

33Why don't they cast her in that Matthew Perry show that has been bandied about? That would be PERFECT!
34YAY, YAY, YAY, YAY, YAY! I am sooo excited about this! Lauren is so talented. I have to say, I was heart broken when they canceled Gilmore Girls! It was the only show I actually sat down to watch. It will be nice to tune into Lauren again, in a new capacity! Can't wait!
