Having won her Oscar, Jennifer Hudson is thankfully not content to rest on her laurels and/or fade into eventual obscurity. Variety is reporting that the Dreamgirls diva has joined the cast of the feature-length film based on "Sex and the City." Here's more:
Hudson, who's in final negotiations, will portray the assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw. Pic revolves around the lives of the four main "Sex and the City" characters, four years after the time frame of the finale of the HBO series, which wrapped its six-year run in 2004.
How great would it be if Hudson's character has some relationship advice for Carrie that she feels is best expressed through song?

Ok, thats a little random right now for me to process.
1"advice best expressed through song" is the lamest idea ever, sorry.
2What the hell??????
I don't like this at all.
3Why would Carrie Bradshaw need an assistant? I'm not sure I'm liking this; I wanted it to only be the original characters.
4I think it's a good idea! Nothing wrong with introducing a few characters to keep things fresh.
5hmm.... interesting.... i wonder what the storyline for the movie would be
6interesting...i want to see where this goes, hope the movie is good
7Assistant? I wonder if she's working for Vogue again?
8I like it! She can be the fiesty assistant who does dish out the advice! I can so see JHud playing that role...
9uhhh this is a weirddd casting.
i have a feeling they are going to go with the plot of "a movie about making a movie about the SATC book"
10I can't wait to see this movie!!!
11Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Sigh. They better not make her the stereotypical "sassy sistah" assistant.
12((screaming))!!! OMG IM SO FKN EXCITED
13I don't care for JenHud.... I hope this isn't true.
14ohhh exciting i cant wait to see the movie!!
15Hmm...I don't know about this. I love SATC and JHud but JHud is too talented to take a backseat to these 4 ladies in this movie. Although I guess its good to see that she doesn't think so
I hope they give her a good part.
16
i want the show back not a movie
17robinm — It was a joke. But thanks!
18Is this a joke????? WTF????
19With her in the movie things aren't going to be the same...
I am skeptical. I think that Hudson is too talented an actress to be a little character in a movie; at least I hope she is only a little character.
Why would Carrie need an assistant?
20don't worry buzz i got your joke and thought it was cute!
21I miss the shows:(, the movie better be as good as the show!
22I'm not happy about it at all. I don't like jennifer hudson, she is annoying. That kind of kills it for me now. Not sure I even want to see the movie.
23Yuck. I refused to see Dreamgirls even though JHud is supposed to be amazing in it so I only know her through the awards season. She doesn't annoy me that much, but I just don't see her in this film. She doesn't have the sophistication to pull it off, in my opinion.
Either way, won't see the movie unless the entire, original cast is back, including all the boyfriends/husbands.
24Oh god, why??? Why do they need her in it? Can't they stick to the original formula? I bet Kim Catrall is pissed! And I don't blame her.
25Don't understand the haters, I like JH, and we're not sure it's a major character anyway. She's a hot woman who doesn't need to be a stick, acts and sings great, what's the problem?
26The idea of Carrie needing an assistant seems weird to me. I hope they don't screw up this movie!
