I wasn't the only moviegoer wowed by the remake of the Western 3:10 to Yuma this weekend as the movie took the No. 1 spot at the box office. According to Variety, the film "appealed primarily to men over 25" but, um, I'm pretty sure there was plenty there for the ladies to enjoy as well.

Halloween continued its killing spree at No. 2 while the ever-entertaining Superbad followed up in third place. Balls of Fury is funny enough to come in fourth place and, of course, The Bourne Ultimatum has yet to be knocked from the top five, coming in fifth place this weekend with $5.4 million. Surprisingly, my man Clive Owen and his totally entertaining, bloody movie Shoot 'Em Up opened in sixth place to the tune of just $5.45 million. Hopefully the second weekend's the charm for the lovely Clive and his gory, funny movie.

I saw 3:10 to Yuma with two girlfriends, and there was plenty for us to enjoy!
1Now I have to say that I am not a fan of westerns, and generally not a fan of shoot-em-up type movies, so I went into seeing this movie with some skepticism, but based on the reviews, I thought it was worth checking out.
I really enjoyed the movie. Crowe and Bale give exceptional performances. Especially Bale - I think there should be some Oscar buzz with his performance. There was violence, but it wasn't gratuitous or over the top. Just enough to let you see how rough and ruthless outlaws could be. It's a suspenseful movie, and very thought provoking.
Worth checking out, if you are at all interested. There was a whole spectrum of people in the afternoon show we went to see. From a couple giggly teenage girls, to some frat boys, us and some grandparent types.
2I'm definitely considering checking it out soon. I love Christian Bale!
3Wow! I'm surprised but psyched that 3:10 to Yuma was No. 1 at the box office. I saw it this weekend, and it was one of the smartest and best films I've seen all year.
4I love westerns and I love both Russell Crowe and Christian Bale. They are two intelligent, hardworking actors that don't crave the spotlight (are you listening Brad Pitt??)
I'm looking forward to seeing this film.
5I'm going to see this Friday. It looks amazing and I LOOOOOVE Ben Foster! ♥
6i'm really surprised by this ! it doesn't have a very box-officy name, but looks really good!
7the acting was amazing in this movie. There were so many moments when all you were looking at is their eyes and you see all you need to see. Bale and Crowe did an amazing job with this movie, i loved it! So did my boyfriend!
8It was a fantastic movie. I'm happy that it did so well. Christian and Russell were amazing. Ben Foster's character is pscyho.
