Opening in limited release this Friday, Silk follows "a married silkworm merchant-turned-smuggler (Michael Pitt) in 19th century France traveling to Japan for his town's supply of silkworms after a disease wipes out their African supply. During his stay in Japan, he becomes obsessed with the concubine of a local baron." Keira Knightley and Alfred Molina also star, so I look forward to seeing Silk as soon as possible. 1She always dose these types of movies.
Hmm.. I want to see.
could be good.
So, it glamorizes an affair and the guys get all the good face time while the women mostly just look pretty. Oh and feel sad when the man is away of course. Been there, done that. Does have a beautiful look to it, though.
AND a shout out to Jen's younger-man boyfriend from the Creek! (Michael Pitt)
I don't think I've ever seen Michael Pitt in a romantic role, other than in Dawson's Creek. That'll be interesting. And I love Keira, so.
I love Keira! The movie looks like it will be great but I don't know if I will see it. I don't like movies about the "other women."
The trailer really doesn't do the plot justice. Of course they can't give away the twist, but the trailer doesn't really form the full basic idea of the movie--just makes it seem like a guy goes to Japan and cheats on his wife.
