Yay! Jim and Pam return from their romantic honeymoon, but there is no rest for the newlyweds at The Office. Michael crosses the line — and Pam bears the brunt of his antics, like usual — while Jim fends off a nosy Dwight. I'll admit that Pam got on my nerves this week but I was glad to have Jim back so he could one-up Dwight.

I found this week to be much more engaging than last week's post-wedding episode, and I'm pretty excited to see where the storyline is headed now that the co-workers are all together again. But before I give away any spoilers, check out my favorite quips plus a few more thoughts when you read more.
- Meredith: "What'd you bring us?"
Pam: "Some candy."
Meredith: "What else?"
Pam: "That's it."
Meredith: "Ohhhh, because you spent so much on the wedding."
Poor Pam and Jim. They walk into Dunder Mifflin bearing gifts with the honeymoon glow still on their faces — until they realize they're back to working with goons again. I love the bit between Pam and Erin over the candy distribution. (Erin's such a goody-goody that she has to clear everything with Michael.) But my favorite is definitely the rum with the stuffed parrot. Mainly because watching Steve Carell talk next to a stuffed parrot holding a bottle is kind of hilarious. - Michael: "You know what? I'm going to start dating her even harder."
Pam: "What's that supposed to mean?"
Michael: "You know what that means."
So yes, Michael is dating Pam's mom, which he reveals after she gets wind of his fancy dinner reservations. I agree with Pam's initial anger — no one wants their mother to date Michael Scott, especially when he keeps using the word "lover." (Though "pickle" may be worse). However, I'm giddy over this new development, because I can't wait to see what it spawns. Pam and Jim on a date with Michael and Pam's mom? That would be a-ma-zing. - "You know, I really would've appreciated a heads up that you were into dating mothers. I would've introduced you to mine."—Dwight
Just picture Dwight's mother in your mind for a second. That's funny in itself. - "I have plenty of female friends...My aunt, but she just blocked me from IM; the woman from Quiznos."—Michael
Poor guy. I'm curious to see how Michael's new romance ends up affecting his relationship with Pam. She's got to forgive him at some point, but do you think she's overreacting? Personally, I find her complaining kind of grating. She has every right to be P.O.'d, but as the episode went on, she seems angry more out of spite than anything else. - "Did you really think I would put my primary listening device in a wooden mallard? I'm not insane."—Dwight
The mallard! I always enjoy a good Jim versus Dwight scuffle, so this was one of the highlights for me, especially when Jim tries to throw Dwight off by playing opera music or giving the wooden duck to Kelly. Then just when you think Dwight is a total idiot, he pulls out a twist, having hid a pen recorder amongst Jim's office supplies. Jim may have won the promotion, but Dwight's out to win the war.

So what'd you think about the episode? Are you on Team Pam, or were you a little annoyed by her screaming fit like I was? Weigh in below in the comments, and tell me your favorite lines of the evening!

To me, this was an even funnier episode than the wedding one. I mean the overall plot was hilarious but then the little touches, like Stanley's excitement while Pam was yelling at no more meetings, and Creed starting to tear up over the aria were amazing.
1yes, myfairlady, I loved how happy Stanley was when Pam started yelling "No more meetings!"
Part of me agreed with Pam and part of me was getting annoyed by her.
Loved when Michael first told Jim. I've never seen him really lose his cool before. hilarious.
Ryan and his fedora. Really.
I pictured Dwight's mom like a female Mose!
2a female mose! hahahaa yikes! hysterical and scary! lol
3Now that I have the thought of Dwight's mom like a female Mose, we REALLY need an episode where we get to meet Dwight's mom. It would be incredible.
4Stanley's excitement while Pam was yelling at no more meetings
Hahaha! That was funny!
My prediction for Michael's relationship with Pam's mom is that her mom will somehow screw him over and Pam will side with Michael. I got the impression from the wedding episode that Pam and her mom don't particularly get along well.
5My favorite part was the Michael/Toby bonding moment, no matter how short lived it was. Pam did get on my nerves, but that's not something you really want to hear after your honeymoon. Jim was great in this episode. I loved seeing him trying to balance calming Pam and getting back at Dwight.
6overall, hilarious episode! ryans fedora: makes him seem more of a douche bag, really.
i understand pams outburst.. but maybe she was overreacting a bit?
and creed crying over the opera was priceless!!!
7Not on Team Pam. Not only was she really shrill and irritating most of the episode, but damn is she lucky that she's married to one of her bosses and the other is inept. I'm getting even more annoyed with the Jim/Pam subplot if Pam is going to scream her head off in the office - did she have to punch a hole in the wall like Andy to get any kind of professional consequence for having a total meltdown? - and Jim stands by making his awkward face he normally reserves for Michael. I don't see how this Jim promotion makes sense or is good for the show at all.
I thought Toby, Ryan's toolbag fedora, and Stanley stole the show! And thank God, because it would've been a pretty terrible episode otherwise.
8that reminds me, you owe me three dollars for gas.
9Overall, I thought it was good. But one thing has really been bothering me. Do you guys remember when Pam's mom came to visit in, like... season 1? It was when Pam was still engaged to Roy. Pam talked about how her mom was her best friend, and they were all giggly and cute together. It was a totally different actress, and a TOTALLY different character. I hate when shows do that. Like they don't expect us to remember these things? I mostly remember it because Pam's mom called Jim "cute" and said "why aren't you dating him?" or something, and he overheard it and got this huge smile on his face because he was already in love with Pam by then.
10I remembered that Pam's Mom was a different actress too! It is annoying when shows do that...
My favorite part was when Dwight says "Do you want me to give you chills?" And then goes the "Crack an egg on your head and the yolk runs down" thing on Michael's back. I used to do that all the time when I was little- love it!
11lmao great episode. I noticed that too !! It's a totally different character and actress portraying Pam's mom. Oh well, can't wait to see how it all plays out .. man I love this show
12this one wasn't one of my favorites. i found pam to be so annoying.
i did love the stanley getting excited part. i burst out laughing at that part. and the "she blocked me from IM"
13My least favorite episode of all time. I might have cracked a smile once.. They need to figure out this Jim/Pam mess.. The characters are becoming mundane.
14I actually didn't like this episode. Mainly because Pam was really annoying and the fact that they changed the mother just to have a story line. Also I was expecting Jim/Dwight storyline to be really funny....but it was just blaw, thought they could have come up with better material.
15To all those who found Pam's reaction to be annoying; what show have you been watching? It was perfectly consistent with the tenor of the series as a whole, along with the fact that she is 5 months pregnant, witnessed he parents divorce and has been privy to Michael's less-than-stellar moments in and out of love.
The Jim/Pam storyline will never get old in any incarnation as it is the epitome of what a normal relationship looks like in the face of chaos. I hope the writers continue to stay true to the show and its characters.
16Pam's character isn't consistent at all. They've turned her into a b*tch on purpose to contrast with micheals (formerly cringe worthy, now contrarily dull) outrageous behavior. It's a brilliant move, if it doesn't ruin the show. They've turned micheal into a half reasonable person, while reducing the two most reasonable people on the show to irritating prats. It works as social critique, as satire, but obviously no one picks it up. I remember when pam consoled michael over holly -- the days of patient pam are gone.
17Ryan's hat isn't a fedora, it's a trilby.
18I really thought the Pam character failed this episode. I can understand the initial horror of "you're sleeping with my mother", but the running outside screaming, the seditious disruption of the meeting----when Stanley did that Michael had to step up and be the boss, and he would have in that moment too. I thought the whole episode, except for Jim's discomfort scenes, was out of character for the whole tone of the series. Like a (gasp) sitcom.
