Bad news if you're one of the many who peek at your favorite shows online: Hulu may start charging for content as early as next year.
I can't say I'm surprised by this — not much comes free, so it was bound to happen eventually — but that doesn't mean I'm not bummed. Even though many of the network sites stream their own shows, Hulu has always been a reliable source for older TV shows, movies, and fun exclusive interviews. I'm not giving up on the website just yet, as long as they keep the cost reasonable, but how much is that price benchmark? I'm leaving that up to you guys.
How much would you be willing to pay to use Hulu? $1 per episode? $2 per movie? $10 a month? Or will you swear off Hulu entirely once this new plan goes into effect? Speak your mind in the comments!

Sadly, nothing. I'm already broke, so if Hulu wants to charge, fine, but I won't be the one paying for it.
1Once they start charging, I'm done.
2Hmmm... I read elsewhere that Hulu was planning on making people pay for cable tv shows, ex. FX and stuff. I mean, it would be kind of senseless to charge for ABC, NBC shows since people could just go to the actual websites and watch them for free.
3I only watch network shows on Hulu so I would definitely not pay for those...
4no i will not watch hulu at all if i have to pay.
5I won't pay. there are tons of websites I can watch the shows on.
6Certainly not $1 per episode - otherwise I'd just go to iTunes. I would be willing to pay a flat monthly rate, like $5.
Unfortunately, there are so many sites that carry pirated versions of every single show that I'm sure many people would just up and quit Hulu.
7There are way too many free uploads out that, and those who are willing to pay probably have DVR already, so I don't see this working out for Hulu.
8*out there
9I wouldn't pay.I would just go to the show's site or youtube.I'm not going to pay to watch a show.
10As others said, zero dollars. Sorry!
11I agree, I'm just not willing to pay, sorry Hulu!
12Can you say torrent time?
13You're breaking my heart Hulu!
14If they start charging, I'm going to have to leave Hulu!
That sucks. If they charge, I won't pay.

I'll just download off iTunes or go to other websites if they start charging.
16i will NEVER pay for regular television over the internet, i already pay for the internet and television. biggest mistake ever, see ya HULU!
17i wouldn't pay a dime.
18I started using Hulu just a few weeks ago, and while I think it's really handy to have a queue and subscribe to shows, even extra shows that I'd probably not watch if it weren't for the convenience of Hulu. I won't pay for it. There are other options, and I can live without. On top of that, I already pay an arm and for a gazillion channels and DVR...
19They already show commercials. Don't they get paid for that? The only way I'd consider paying is if the episodes are commercial free. Even then, it would only be a small fee since I dvr the network shows anyway.
20I will be jumping off the Hulu ship and boarding the Fancast one. They have a bunch of the same shows, and if I have to watch commercials I'm certainly not going to pay to watch commercials. I already do that with cable.
21All this is going to do is get more people to use illegal download services. If they do go this route, I hope Netflix works out a deal that lets them do the same thing and include it in their instant watch section. You can already watch all of Star's stuff right when it comes up.
22I like this because it might mean websites will stop embedding hulu clips. I'm not in the US so those clips never play for me; very annoying!
