There's been awesome news lately for Gilmore Girls fans — first, Lauren Graham got cast in Maura Tierney's role in Parenthood, and now the beloved show's co-creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, has just scored a deal to write and executive produce a show for HBO.
The premise of Palladino's new show isn't too far from Gilmore Girls: it'll focus on three sisters and their complicated relationships with their mother and each other. It is far from Stars Hollow, though; the sisters, all writers, share the same apartment in New York City (guess NYC rent prices are still high in a recession).
I'm so stoked for this project and even more intrigued that it'll air on HBO — will there be cussing and sex scenes mixed in with the lightning fast dialogue?

OH MY GOD I just passed out. this sounds like my life (live in NYC with my sister) and I LOVE Gilmore Girls. just quoted the show to my coworkers awhile ago, such a dork.
1Hopefully this show will be more like Gilmore Girls and not like the last disaster! Her writing is awesome, so I'll definitely be looking out for it.

4The weird thing is that this is very similar to the idea for SM Gellar's HBO show that's supposed to air soon - relationships between adult siblings, set in the NYC literary world.
Does this mean that HBO has given up on the Sarah Michelle show?
5This is soo crazy I was just thinking of ASP today, I was watching a rerun of GG and wondered when and if she would do another show and what it would be about.
I really miss Gilmore Girls that show will always be special to me and so many other fans. I didn't know the news about Lauren, I'm so glad! Very interesting
6I didn't watch Jezebel James, I guess that's a good thing! I'm so ecstatic. I didn't know about Lauren and Parenthood. I would like to see Alexis Bledel casted as well. I love love love her. And of course there will be cursing, and slight nudity...it's HBO!
