The networks have announced their fall schedules, but which of the series will actually be worth watching? Throughout the summer, as I watch the pilots, I'll be posting my first impressions. A lot can change before a show makes it to air, so these aren't comprehensive reviews, just quick thoughts on how the shows look now. Today's installment: the CBS comedy "The Big Bang Theory."
What's it about? Two super-nerds have their world shaken up when a hot girl moves in across the hall.
Who's in it? Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco
The good: It's a Chuck Lorre sitcom, which is a plus if you like his work ("Cybil," "Dharma and Greg," "Two and a Half Men"). Galecki and Parsons have a funny dude-chemistry. I chuckled a few times, which is more than I can say for a lot of classic laugh-track sitcoms these days.
The bad: The plot of the pilot involves the vapid blonde neighbor needing to use the guys' shower because hers is broken. She thus must stand around in a towel in their apartment. Meanwhile, the guys go to retrieve her TV from her meathed ex-boyfriend and end up literally getting pantsed. Let's just say the show isn't exactly subtle. Or deep.
Will I watch? Ehhhh. I might catch an episode here or there, but I have much higher hopes for NBC's mid-season "The IT Crowd" to fill my geeks-meet-hot-girl quota for the year.

i'm sorry but this show looks so stupid. of course, the female is dumb and blonde and slutty looking and the males are rocket scientists, except for the female's equally dumb SO, which proves she is even dumber than we thought! crazy!
when are they going to do a comedy about smart men who like--horrors!--smart women? oh wait, i guess a smart woman just isn't all that funny or entertaining...
i hope this show is cancelled in less than 24 hours, just like anchorwoman.
1Think I'll pass on watching this one.
2Um, NO emphatically, NO!!!!!!!!I wish television would get some talented writers again!!!! I'm so sick of stupid, idiotic shows that are just an insult to intelligence!!! There are maybe a handful of well written shows on there air right now. I'm so sick of "reality" tv...who's reality is it supposed to be? And the majority of the game shows and competions!!!!I want good television that evokes true emotion!!! Not crap that only makes me angry!!!!
3Just a tip:
I saw the pilot for this back in the winter, it sucked BIG TIME!!
4I heard rumors that they had re-shot the episode with a new female lead, but unless they fixed the material, this isn't worth watching.
looks kinda lame! the IT crowd is hilarious! i couldn't stop laughing all last season! i can't wait to watch more of it.
5i just downloaded the pilot in iTunes today and it's pretty funny. i'd like to watch more.
6tivo offered the pilot for free last week. i've heard mixed reviews of it, but who can pass up a free preview, right? i liked it. it's not hilariously funny, but it definitely had its moments.
i'll probably watch it b/c i'll have 30 minutes to spare b/t how i met your mother and heroes. unless, of course, i decide to pick up chuck as well, in which case i'll tivo it and watch the first 30 minutes while the end is recording.

8sorry for the double post!! i didn't even click post twice!!
9I enjoy this show, on a good script night it is very entertaining. In Howard's room there is an awesome black, white and red portrait print. Anyone know where a person can get a copy of the print, or of the artist?
10this show is much better than IT Crowd
