Ron Livingston certainly does not have a case of the Mondays. According to Hollywood Reporter, the star of Office Space has signed on for a role alongside Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana in the film adaptation of the bestselling book The Time Traveler's Wife. Here's more:
The book tells the story of a dashing librarian (Bana) at Chicago's Newberry Library who has a gene that causes him to involuntarily time travel. He must help his wife cope with the many complications of his disorder as the two are often out of sync.
Livingston will play the man's friend, a liberal attorney who works for nonprofit organizations.
Well, that's nice. I'm tentatively excited about this project so far, since the cast does seem solid. On the whole, I'm still a little wary of adapting this powerful, beautifully written novel into a movie. Yet as far as the casting news goes, it's been pretty much so far, so good.

Kenneth Jay Lane
I'm pretty wary about the book as well. As exciting as it sounds, with the cast lining up, I'm just a little scared to find out how this is translated to film. Like you said, it's a very powerful and beautifully written story and with that comes a certain difficulty in putting that on the screen. There is SOOOOOOO much going on in the book that, knowing it all can't be put in the film, it'd be hard to pick and choose what's important enough to incorporate.
1I guess we'll just have to see once the movie comes out...
I agree. I'm totally doubting the film version. I'm trying to remember then, would Ron be playing Gomez? That just doesn't fit. He was a big tall blonde guy.
2I totally do not picture Ron Livingston being Gomez. I thought he was supposed to be a really big guy.
I am looking forward to the movie just to see if they do it well. I think even if they mess it all up, I can still go back and re-read the book to remember how good it was.
3OH MY GOD I am freaking out! This is my absolute FAVORITE book of all time (well top 3)! I love Rachel McAdams as Claire!
4i am a bit leery about this adaptation as well. i look forward to seeing the aging makeup and all that...who plays young Claire? do we know yet? such a great book!
5This is a fantastic book...it will be interesting to see how they adapt it for the screen.
6I'm excited to see what the book translates to onscreen. I thought the book was sad and beautiful. I kind of hate to see Ron Livingston as Gomez, because I like Ron and I don't like Gomez. But I love Rachel McAdams!
7uh..I dont picture him as Gomez at all! uggg... I see Paul Bettany.
8I loved the book, but I'm not sure how all the intricacies will translate to the big screen. A movie couldn't possibly begin to capture it all.
9Love him but just don't see him as Gomez...But then I wanted Christian Bale instead of Eric Bana...Eric's too blah...This will be a difficult book to adapt to the big screen. Not looking forward to it at all and I adored the book!!!
10Never read the book, but I love Ron! He needs to stick to movies and stay away from TV.
11I totally agree!!! He's forever stuck in my head as "Post It" guy "Berger" On SATC. He's much better in films!!!
12This is one of my favorite books! Looking forward to it.
