Thanks to Pop Candy for reminding me that Showtime is running a very fun contest right now to support the third season of "Weeds."
One of the show's hallmarks is the "Little Boxes" theme song, which was written by Malvina Reynolds in 1962 and is performed by different artists at the start of each episode. Now, Showtime is looking for viewers to record music videos of their own version of the song; the winning submission will be aired on Showtime, and the creator will get $10,000.
To promote the contest, "Weeds" cast members have recorded their own versions of the song, which you can see on the contest site or on YouTube. A couple of my favorites are Romany Malco's rap and Tonye Patano's very earnest belting that goes all reggae toward the end. To watch them, read more

Haha, these are great! The best was Romany Malco's reactions to Tonye Patano forgetting the words and having fun with it. I love imagining what crazy shenanigans happen behind the scenes on this show. You know that with this many hilarious people working on one show, strange things must happen.
1as for tonye, wonderful voice.
these are great versions, i like to see if others can top theirs off.
2Cute. I'm watching season's one DVD of Weeds now.
3those are pretty funny and this is a clever way to promote the show!

6I love these! Thanks for sharing this buzz! You should record your own too!
7These are awesome! I love Romany Malco's rap! I love him! What a fine fine man. Hey Romany, I'm a milf...
8Any "Weeds" fans should come join my new group, Little boxes, made of ticky tacky.
