There is something about the endearing everyman-ness of Steve Carell that just makes me want to root for the characters he plays, no matter what. In the trailer for his fall movie Dan in Real Life, that feeling is only intensified as he plays a widower raising three daughters. He falls for a woman (Juliette Binoche! Hooray!) who turns out to be his brother's (Dane Cook, booooo) new girlfriend.

OMG...I love love LOVE Steve Carell. I had no idea he had another movie coming out this year either, so thanks for the heads up. It looks great...and Dane Cook too? WHOOHOO!! Can't wait to see this!
1ha, looks like a fun film. The hooray and boo are very appropriately placed. I don't understand why people keep casting Dane Cook. Does no one realise that he has little presence and that his stand up is crap?
Anyway, for a second I thought I was looking at Julie Delpy when Juliette Binoche made her appearance in the trailer.

18Dane Cook.. whhhyyyyyyyy.. I actually didn't mind SOME of his stand up - he was funny the first 20 times i heard him repeat his jokes. But his acting is hardly anything worthy of these roles.

27They filmed quite a bunch of this near my house and I got a few glimpses of Steve, which was way cool, but I didnt get to meet him
When I first heard of the movie, they were really pushing Dane as the star more than Steve who is the
actual lead. This trailer looks like they've taken a hint after Dane's constant-low-box-office-appeal and minimized his role.
