The Miss America Pageant is homeless no more. Dropped by ABC in 2004, then by Country Music Television this year, the pageant finally found a TV partner this week in TLC. The network inked a deal to air the pageant through 2010, along with a reality series preceding the 2008 pageant that will follow the preparations of the 52 contestants. (I sure hope there's a "What Not to Wear" tie-in.)
TLC seems like a better fit for the pageant than CMT did, but since the broadcast version of Miss America basically fell off the map once ABC dropped it three years ago, I'm wondering if anybody will be watching when the competition airs in January. Are you over Miss America? Or does the new TV deal make you curious to check it out?

5yeah i think tlc is a good station for them, but why not oxygen or lifetime? i kid, i kid. used to watch these when i was little because they fascinated me. now i'm like there are other ways to gain self-worth than parading in two-pieces for everyone. thank goodness i'm out of the phase of watching beauty pageants.

9i used to love watching miss america and found it so beautiful but im not sure if i'll watch it this year. maybe its losing its likeability. ill see if i get a chance to watch it, maybe ill watch some of it.

21Yes I will watch the Miss America Pageant, I always do. I think it is great that TLC has signed a deal to telvize the pageant. And I am sick of the reality shows on TV. So glad something good such as Miss America is coming to TLC.
