Finally! For weeks, there's been gossip about which artists would land a coveted spot on the New Moon soundtrack, and now we have the final list. We knew that Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me on the Equinox" was going to make it on there, and Thom Yorke, Muse, and The Killers were rumored as well.
Still, I'm psyched to see a few unexpected names on the roster (like Bon Iver and Lykke Li), as well as some relatively unknowns. Alexandra Patsavas put it all together — she's also the music supervisor for Grey's Anatomy and Gossip Girl — and her eye for artists is always spot-on, so I can't wait to download the whole thing. The soundtrack hits stores October 20th, but until then, check out the full playlist and tell me what you think!

Gah! It really peeves me off that Thom Yorke, Muse, Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear, The Killers, and Death Cab have songs for this movie. They're some of my fave bands and artists, and I cannot stand the whole Twilight thing.

10Band of Skulls are awesome, I'm afraid this will make them too famous to play little club shows, but I'm happy for them they should get the attention they deserve! And I agree with suzpuz, I Belong To You is one of my faves on The Resistance, but I'm assuming the (New Moon) version will be a bit different than the album version... can't wait to hear it!

And why wouldn't Muse or The Killers lend their music to Twilight? Twilight is solely responsible for, probably, more than half of Muse's popularity. Sure, there are those who have always known about and loved Muse - but, seriously, Muse was nothing more than a (talented) Radiohead wannabe before Twilight.
Being an elitist music snob to the point of believing that "lesser" people are incapable of enjoying quality music is worse - way worse - than wearing a "Team Edward" shirt. Any day. I'd rather sit through the entirety of the New Moon movie, surrounded by thirteen year old girls, than have a minute long conversation with a music snob.

I love the Twilight saga...I have read all the books and loved them, i hope that New Moon is better than the Twilight movie, I was kind of upset.....I love all the book and I love Jacob and Edward both.....
18why helloo there; okay so I love it all.. it seems like a great collection of music and hopefully plays well with the movie. I think the twilight soundtrack was great just not in the movie f you get what I'm saying so hopefully new moon's will be even more great in the movie. I hope my comment appiels to you as well

21The soundtrack is amazing. Rolling Stone gave it a BIG thumbs up, so that makes it even more amazing. The artists on here are all great, and the styles I believe fit the theme of Twilight very well.
