Well, this is some strange timing, but no need to worry about seeing the movie without him — Chris Noth is definitely signed on to play Mr. Big in the "Sex and the City" movie. Variety confirms today that Noth will be joining the four main characters played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon in the big screen adaptation of one of HBO's most sensational series. Variety goes on to note, however, "New Line hasn't released details about the exact storyline for the feature."
I'm relieved by this news. I was sure Noth wouldn't disappoint all the many "SATC" fans by not starring in the movie, but it made me nervous the longer he wasn't confirmed. Now I'd just like to know about that plot line...

I'm glad to hear that Noth signed on, but I'm still kind of wary about this movie in general. I can't imagine how it could possibly be any good. I'll still go see it, though.
i just hope its not about carries wedding....i just think that would be so lame. and im worried that the girls might not be the same after all this time
Does anybody remember a not-nice comment he came about the effect SATC has had on New York City that he made a year or so ago? I can't remember exactly what he said but it was something to the affect of SATC ruining NYC and the general vibe it has now. So when I heard about the movie, I wasn't sure he would be interested so this news is a little odd. But really, it would be SATC without him...
exciting news, i cant wait to see the movie!
Best news of the week, I wouldn't see it without him, wouldn't work!
i really don't see how they could have done it without him anyway. i hope the rest of the guys come back too!
sigh i hope the rest of the guys come back too. steve has to come back if only because he has a son, named brady, with miranda. and he's adorkable.
I'm really glad he signed on, I just hope they don't screw the film up.
Yayyy Mr. BIG!!!!!!!!
Awesome.....
They waited way too long to make this movie. I still think it should run on HBO and be released as a DVD within a month of that. I just really fear this project will taint the legacy of this special show. I hope not...
I've always thought that movie could be ruined only by missing some characters or replacing original actors by some other one ... so I'm glad we'll have the original Mr. Big. Now I hope they will not ruin it with a lousy plot line and they'll be able to keep the "spirit" of the show
yay!!!! I'm so happy!!!
i agree with everyone; they couldn't have done it without him.
i can not WAIT until the movie comes out
I hoping this movie will be good. Chris Noth is a must have to be in the SITC movie.
Whew! I bet plenty of fans would have been pissed if he wasn't in it.
i want my own mr. big to come sweep me off my feet in paris
Yay!!! Sex and the City wouldn't be the same without Mr. Big.
i wonder how much time will have passed. when they first started talking about the movie right after the show ended, it was supposed to be about charlotte going to get their baby, but now I think I'd like to see some sort of progression-Miranda's baby being older, and how they are now.
yay!!! this is great news indeed.
Yay!
it would be the same without him. im glad he signed on.
oops i meant wouldn't be the same.
I'm so interested to see what the plot's going to be. I have no clue how they're going to go about it.
Phew...it wont be the same without him, I can't wait for the movie to come out!
I am happy about this, it's great news. :]
do you think they'll call him Big or John?
I hope they don't get married.
