Wow, with this movie and the news about Disney's Snow White and the Shaolin Monks project, it looks like Miss Snow White is enjoying a bit of a comeback.
In Sydney White, Amanda Bynes plays... Sydney White, a college freshman at a school where the sorority sisters rule. When Sydney finds that she's not exactly a good match for the sisters, she ends up rooming with seven geeky guys who agree to help Sydney get back at those nasty sorority witches.
From the trailer (which originally appeared on MySpace, hence the introduction by Amanda Bynes) it looks like a cutesier, less sarcastic Mean Girls, with a large dose of wide-eyed Bynes charm.

This doesn't seem like my kind of movie, but I'll admit that I really dig Amanda. She's just so cute, charming, and likable. And, hell, I watched "What a Girl Wants" when I was home sick from work a few years ago, and I expected it to be pretty stupid, but it was cute.

24I just took my daughter and 2 of her friends (age 12)to see this movie (sneak peek screening)and it was so much fun! I brought my friend along with me as she has 4 boys and occasionally needs a good chick flick.
It was light, it was corny, yes, it's the same Amanda Bynes "character", what's wrong with that,you know what you're going to get, some laughs, nothing serious and was just was funny. What is a movie supposed to be be except just entertainment? Yes, it had a message, a positive one, that some will criticize for being "fluff",...but hey this is for the teen set. Amanda has stayed above the "Lohans' and Nicoles" of the celebrity set and I like her for that. I'd rather bring my daughter and friends to support an actress that presents a positive life style.
Personally we had so much fun comparing it to the "originally" story of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs,...and I couldn't figure out which "dork" was supposed to be "Dopey" until near the end.
We will definitely buy the DVD when it comes out for a fun popcorn chick flick night. As one early review site said "..if you are between 12 and 16, stop reading this review and just go see the movie!"
25Just saw this movie over the weekend and I loved it! Amanda bynes is very funny as usual and Matt long is great beside her. The plot was a good spin off to the original. Keep up the good work Amanda!
I'll Defintley be buying this on D.V.D
