Given the success of Bridget Jones' Diary and any number of other "chick flicks" based on chick lit, I'm surprised it's taken this long to hear news about a movie based on the Sophie Kinsella Shopaholic series. But alas, now the time has come for a film all about Becky Bloomwood and her wacky adventures. ComingSoon reports:
P.J. Hogan (Peter Pan, My Best Friend's Wedding) will direct Confessions of a Shopaholic, an adaptation of the bestselling novel by Sophie Kinsella. Jerry Bruckheimer will produce.
Shooting begins this November so I'll be on the lookout for upcoming casting news. Who do you think should play Miss Shopaholic herself, Becky Bloomwood?

21Just read A Shopaholic and a Baby and I loved it!!!! Emily Blunt would be great, maybe Anna Friel, since she isn't as well known as Emily. Or Anna can be her best friend Suze or Kate Winslet should play Suze!!! Oooh that would be fun.
Hmmm, who should play Luke???? I would love Clive Owen, but Luke is supposed to be from the U.S. so no accent and he should be younger right? Hmmmmm.
I hope Emily Giffin's books (Something Borrowed, Something Blue) are made into movies too!!!!

30Can't Wait! A few years ago when Peter Pan was released I was addicted to it; mainly because I was young and loved Jeremy Sumpter however it was also well done. This movie sounds great, so I'll keep track of it.
