We've already talked about the moonman winners at last night's MTV VMAs and the A-list beauty and fashion looks that were on the red carpet, but what did you think of the performances?
I know some of you were unsure about tuning in this year, but I'm so glad I did, if for no other reason than to see Janet Jackson perform "Scream" as a tribute to Michael. Lady Gaga was over-the-top as always with her bloody rendition of "Paparazzi," and Pink cranked it up a notch with an actual high-wire acrobatic act. And since Jay-Z has been at the forefront of my mind lately, you know I was psyched to see him close out the show with Alicia Keys belting it out at the piano.
So many great artists, so hard to choose! Which one was your favorite?

2Beyonce gets second place just for being so damn sexy!
I used to watch the VMA's years ago, but lately it has been so bad. But this year was kinda nice, except for Jay Z and Alicia Keys. Don't get me wrong, I love Alicia, but she plays every damn year. And I'm honestly tired of all the rap overload lately. So Janet, Lady Gaga and Taylor were a breath of fresh air.
I voted Janet Jackson because I was very emotional about MJ, but LAdy Gaga rocked too.
3i say taylor swift only because thats the only part of the show i actually caught. shoutout to the NYC subway, esp my line, the F!! lol
4I voted for Lady Gaga, but honestly all of the performances were the best they've been in years! I love Muse, and I was very impressed w/ Pink's performance too, she was very graceful, and obviously Beyonce's & the Michael Jackson performance had amazing dancing.
5Beyonce! She was so fun and energetic. She totally deserved to win best female and pop videos! I dont agree with Kanye's antics, but I agree she should have won! Cheerleader vs. nerdy best friend? really? that deserves the win?! I think not! Glad she still won best video over all.
Pink was cool and different and it's always nice to see Muse get some exposure.
6I recorded the show and watched some of it not all of it so I missed Pink which I heard was awesome- Taylors was cute, Lady Gaga was intresting as always (did anyone else notice the white laced G-strings those back up dancers were wearing on their face?), and Beyonce- damn can she move it! If I danced like that every night then I probably could eat more of these freshly baked cookies they have in my office!
7I thought Pink was the best because she was able to sing so beautifully while still doing the circus act. I don't think anyone can use their performance as an excuse to lip synch ever again.
8Lady Gaga without a doubt, Janet's wasn't so hot cause she can't dance as good as her brother (RIP).

11Gotta stay true to the UK and say that Muse were brilliant, cant believe thats their first time on US tv. Other than that Beyonce was amazing, god that lady can move!!!
12I love Muse but I have to give top honours to Lady Gaga. The fact that she put Mark Kanemura in her dancers got bonus point from me. I heart him.
13I voted for Pink. But Beyonce and of course Janet come in second. Beyonce rocked it, and so did Janet who was amazing. Lady Gaga is always entertaining.

14I was digging Lady Gaga until she got all weird with the blood. What was that? Pink was AMAZING, but I voted Janet because I cried the whole way through it. I grew up idolizing the dancing in her and MJ's videos, and I thought it must have been so hard for her to get through. I thought under the circumstances, she was spectacular!
15and speaking of the MJ performance, THOSE DANCERS ROCKED!! They aren't famous, just straight up dancing their hearts out and opening up the show. I was so thrilled for them!

18in this order, Green Day, Muse, Taylor Swift, Lady GaGa, then Pink.

The other performers were sub par in my opinion.

20Pink without a doubt!! That acrobatics routine was SO AMAZING and she must be SO FIT to sing and do those acrobatics!

22Pink is fierce, huge respect to her. I wonder if she actually was singing live throughout the WHOLE performance. If so, she's brilliant. Lady Gaga was interesting, Beyonce 100% professional and crazy fit, Muse always the best live band out there, but the single is just horrible.

25Pink's performance was incredible! Singing and doing acrobatics is difficult, but she pulled it off. I liked Lady Gaga's theatrical rendition of "Paparazzi" too, and I was so impressed by Janet's dance-off to "Scream."

it's not easy performing with a heavy heart. and she did it for her brother, it was sweet and touching seeing them dance together
27Jay-Z and Alicia Keys were awesome! Love her! Voted for their duet. But the Lady GaGa performance was great! What's the voice! Much more better than on a record.
