Word on the street is that a major character will be killed off on tonight's season finale of True Blood, capping off the second season with the episode "Beyond Here Lies Nothin'". With orgies, sacrifices and a maenad (still not sure what that is), to say that this season was far bloodier and sex-filled than the first is a major understatement. Will they be able to kill Maryann and stop the terror in Bon Temps? And more importantly, how will they top themselves in season three?

If you're not getting your blood fix tonight, catch Mad Men on AMC — it looks like we'll see more about Sal and Peggy and the aftermath of Grandpa Gene.
There's also the VMAs on MTV — we'll be watching and covering it on Sugar, so check in with us and our tweets!

Who is it?!?! Can't wait.
1I think it is going to be Lettie Mae...she will be sacrificed to save her daugher, Tara.
2Ahh, can't wait! Just a few more hours!
3I'm SO excited for tonight. And PS - I don't consider Lettie Mae to be a major character so I hope that's not the big death.
4I'm really excited for this maenad story to be over, I feel like it's been drawn out so long. But I do look forward to seeing if they follow the books like they have been, season1=book1, season 2=book2.
Oh and I hope Sophie Ann is a small role. I cannot STAND that girl they casted as her. Yuck!
AH so excited! Too bad I don't have HBO...
5I'm so excited for the finale!!
6i just hope they don't kill off sam!
7ah! so excited. i am sort of tempted to watch the vmas....but i dunno...i think tb >> vmas
8there one bich i no that play in this movie
9I can't wait to watch this!
101) maenads are followers of Bacchus; they feed off the energy of chaos, anger, sexuality, and drunkeness. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maenad
2) I just started watching this series, and I'm actually really disappointed with how much it deviates from the book series. There are people and relationships in this tv series that shouldn't exist.
11wait - last night was the finale? how come when i looked at the TV guide thingy it didn't say NEW? now i'm upset that i missed it. (thank goodness for 'on demand' though - i'll just have to catch it this week
12Disappointing finale, but it was a disappointing season. Mary Ann and her Merry band of sex crazed lunatics should have NEVER been the "big bad" in this season, it should have been the fellowship. I dont care that the show deviates from the books BUT at least make it interesting. The Maenad story line should have been one or two episodes long, not the entire season.
13I think the show being different from the books makes me not want to read the books....it could get confusing or I will like the way the book played something out better then in the series.
14I want to know if Bill being taken and Sookie not getting to tell him that yes she does want to marry him was in the books!
sorry meant to say not read the books.
15I loved the finale and am so glad the Maenad story is finished.
I wish we didn't
have to wait so long for season 3!
16I thought the finale was good. Im glad the maenad is over.
17I don't have any problems with the book vs the show. I LOVE the books and the show is VERY VERY different so I view them like two different things. The show being so different makes it so I don't always know whats happening.
The season finale wasn't bad, I don't think it was a good enough episode to wrap up a really good season. I can't wait for season 3, it better mean more Eric. Eric is delicious, if he takes his shirt off it's a good episode...
18I'm a fan of the books, read quite a few of them, and I hope they follow some of the more important story lines in the 3rd book.
Oh, and even though I liked the Mary Ann character, and the actress was pretty fantastic, I'm so glad they maenad story line is gone.
Hated the maenad story line. Hopefully it will be better next season. Ooo more Eric would be fantastic!
