Us is reporting a rumor that Jessica Simpson's movie Blonde Ambition will go straight to DVD here in the U.S., though it will get a theatrical release internationally. I find this amusing for two main reasons:
- Big daddy/manager Joe Simpson pulled the movie's summer release date because he apparently didn't want it to have to compete with the summer's big movies. So now it seems like he doesn't have much faith in the movie... at all.
- Why should international audiences be subjected to the movie if we're not?
According to a source in the Us piece, the blame for the movie's failure is placed squarely on Simpson: "'The movie is absolutely horrible,' says a source. 'It’s just a bomb, mainly because of Jessica’s acting.'" Thank goodness it's not Luke Wilson's fault, though I do think he made a big mistake signing on for this in the first place. I wonder what will happen with Major Movie Star, Simpson's current film project. If you haven't cringed through the trailer for Blonde Ambition, you can check it out here.

2i actually saw a trailer for this movie and while im not a jessica simpson fan, it didnt look all that bad. i would never waste my time or money but still
3I think it's just a bad movie plot and it's unfair to put all the blame on her. Straight to DVD sucks though...maybe she'll think twice before doing another movie like this. Although I don't have much hope for Major Movie Star either.

7From the trailer, the "plot line" and her acting both look bad. Think I'll pass on this one.
8I would not waste a cent to see that piece of crap. She should stick to selling beauty products, shoes and whatever else so that we won't have to suffer from her horrible acting and singing skills.
9Jessica Simpson...le sigh...she just has no talent. i don't even think she can sing all that great either. Also, why in the world would Luke Wilson sign on to a movie with jessica Simpson in it? Is he desperate for work? I can't even think of anything he's been in since Old School.
10it's funny a lot of American movie are released in europe and go straight to DVD in the US like "the singing detective" with Robert Donney JR and Katie Holmes or "Bandidass" with Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz, but for this one i don't think the europeene audiance will be interested.

It's even more emberassing than the ridiculus movie poster which is clearly using her ASSets to try to sell tickets. Her acting is so akward that it's almost uncomfortable to watch.
I'm so disappointed in Luke Wilson. The rest of the supporting cast hasn't done much in a while, but why Luke?? He must truly be desperate.
12She is such a loser. She's not good at anything, except applying lipgloss and hair extensions -- and she has hired help to do that for her!
13What's with using KT Tunstall for every chick flick song? And WHYYYY is Willie Nelson in this stupid movie, too? This thing looks more unpleasant than using a Port-a-Pottie at Coachella. Sheesh.

15Seriously I'm glad. I made the mistake of watching her last movie and it was SO BAD. Never again will I watch a movie she is in.

20Pink Lipstick - if you saw the movie, you'd see how HORRIBLE Jessica's acting is. It is not just bad writing. She's awful. She's like watching somebody who's terrible who thinks they're great. Reeaaally uncomfortable. Luckily, I streamed the movie for free and didn't have to waste a cent on it (just my time!)
