I was so thrilled yesterday when the trailer for the latest Wes Anderson project, Darjeeling Limited, hit the Internet. Starring the adorable Adrien Brody with his all-innocence-all-the-time-eyebrows, along with Jason Schwartzman and Owen Wilson, the movie looks more outright funny than some of Anderson's works (like The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou), but less obnoxious than, say, a typical Owen Wilson movie (You, Me and Dupree, I'm looking at you... all three of you).
From the trailer it looks like the three men are playing brothers who embark on an adventure together. When someone asks what made them want to do so, there's a vague reference to a spiritual journey. It's a pretty slow-moving trailer until the part involving a can of mace, which made me laugh out loud, but it has that distinctively weird-cool Wes Anderson vibe to it throughout.
My favorite line: "I wonder if the three of us could have been friends in real life. Not as brothers, but as people." Who hasn't wondered that at least once about one's siblings? I can't wait to see Darjeeling Limited when it opens September 28. To watch the trailer, read more

Can't wait to see this. I love Wes Anderson, Adrien Brody, and Jason Schwartzman. As far as Owen, well, I'm much more able to tolerate him in an Anderson film than in anything else.

3Very exciting and what good Kinks songs! At first I thought Rosario Dawson was the young woman in the trailer and almost had a conniption fit. What a relief to see that imdb says the actress is a newcomer, Amara Karan.
4I saw the preview when I saw "Sunshine" this past weekend and I almost jumped out of my seat I was so excited! I think Wes Anderson is amazing and I'm so glad he is working with Jason Schwartzman again.
5I will probably go see this since I really like The Life Aquatic.

8Giggle, I TOTALLY thought that was Luke Wilson too!!! Crazy ... I definitely want to see this, but probably when it comes out on DVD ... it looks like it could be a little too slow moving for my taste, but reminds me of the dysfunctionality (is that even a WORD?? And I have a Master's degree in WHAT subject???) in The Royal Tennenbaums and the Life Aquatic.
9i'm so happy to see that this looks tons better than the life aquatic. that was my least favorite of the wes andersons.

very reminiscent of ben stiller going home in royal tenenbaums with his back bags saying he got locked out of the house and his mom asks him, "i don't get it, did you pack your bags before or after you got locked out of the house?"

10I've missed Wes Anderson, and was beaming when I saw this trailer! So many good movies coming out! I almost couldn't stop laughing at the point where the brothers are fighting each other! Jason Schwartzman's preamble before spraying his brothers was effing hilarious!
