Well folks, it's official: Drew Carey is the new Bob Barker. I truly had no idea he would actually be made host of "The Price Is Right" when I posted the poll this morning, but what timing! The majority of you who voted thought Carey could pull off this gig, so here's hoping you're right about that. He certainly has a goofy appeal, so I think he'll do just fine — though of course, nobody can ever replace old Bob.

Now I'm wondering if Carey will be able to sufficiently crow Barker's signature line "Come on down!" Or perhaps Carey will usher in a new "Price Is Right" tag line?

really?
1I'm actually surprised he got the job.I thought it was going to go to Mark Steines so someone like that.
2That's cool for Drew! I was kinda hoping Ian Ziering was gonna get the job though!
3well, actually, the host of the show never says "come on down", it's the announcer when they announce your name. i think bob would say, "who's our next contestant?" and that's it.
it's so funny when you're there in the audience, you can't hear a thing because everyone's screaming so loud. so when they call your name, they put it on a big sign and hold it up. my roommate from college went on, it was so fun!
4I didn't know he was up for consideration but it suits him, he's funny and isn't an intimidating presence to the contestants.
5i really can't picture him on that show.
6That's coo for him...he played a pretty good host on his own show (Not hiding his amusement with his cast) I wish him the best...
7It won't be Carey saying "come on down!" it'll be the announcer. any replacements for the late Rod Roddy? how about one of the Whose Line? cast members? (except Wayne...)
