There are an awful lot of people looking forward to seeing the new Hairspray movie this weekend, but can they rival the die-hard Harry Potter fans going to see The Order of the Phoenix for second, third, fourth or fifth times? What do you think? Which of these battling summer flicks will take the crown as No. 1 at the box office this weekend?

La Senza
Petite Mendigote
Andy Warhol for Levi's
I think Hairspray but only because all the HP fans will be reading their new books.
So exited!
1HARRY!! I have no interest in Hairspray
2Ha I agree with megmarmor. The truly hardcore HP fans will be reading their books.
3The truly hardcore fans have already seen the movie once or more and so will be fine with just spending time with the new books. The people who havent seen the movie yet will be fine with waiting to read the book as well and therefore will have time to go see the movie. it works out for everyone.
4i completely agree with schultzie11. my own mother is in the latter group. i, myself, have seen the movie twice already and am looking forward to a weekend reading the last book. i'm also looking forward to seeing the movie AGAIN in imax once the buzz dies down just a tiny bit. maybe that will be sunday if i'm done with it by then...
5oh, and i forgot to add, i don't even know why the did a remake of an already awesome movie (and yes i know it was a fun musical). but then again, i'm just a john waters fan i suppose.
6I hope Harry Potter. I'm not a Hairspray fan.
7lol - Harry Potter by a landslide.
8I only voted Harry Potter because I myself and planning on going again for seconds, and my family and friends have yet to see it with us.
9although i myself will be reading reading reading this weekend.. ;D doesn't mean i won't have some downtime to go out for a movie, though.
HArry POtter has already been out for a little while, so I say Hairspray. I'm going to be taking time out of my reading to go see Hairspray since I've seen HP twice already.
10i vote for harry potter b/c all of the hardcore peeps would have already seen it and will be reading their books this weekend. the non-hardcore fans will take advantage and head out to the theatres.
plus hairspray looks like crap.
11i'd say harry potter because i know a good number of fans who couldn't watch it last weekend b/c it was sold out. i'd watch it for a 2nd time, but i'll be too caught up reading and re-reading the final book.
12I agree with the first comment, all the hp fans will be in hiding reading deathly hallows...i know this because i will be one of them!!! phone off, door closed, kleenex on standby.
13Both films seem great however I think Harry Potter will be no.1. I mean, who can beat out Harry Potter?
14although the HP fans will be reading the new boook! (sooo excited) i really hope the Hp stays on top. Im gonna go see HP in IMAX this weekend after i finish the book, so Im rooting for Harry!!!!!
15I want it to be Hairspray, but I know it will be Harry Potter.
16Oh I didn't even think of that! I'll be busy reading the book... but then again all the non-hardcore fans (who haven't even read the books... like my brother) will probably go see HP this weekend. Plus HP is a guys and girls movie but I don't know any guy friends that would go see Hairspray...
Yay for Harry Potter... and if either Ron or Hermione dies in this last book I'm going to stop reading it on the spot and send hate mail to JK!!
17o im a geek but harry potter, because i saw it yesterday and it was fab
18My neices are already on their 3rd go see of the HP movie. They're picking up their books at midnight and I'm sure that's the last I'll see of them for the next couple of days.
19I think Hairspray, at least I want it to be. I adored that movie. When I got out of the theater earlier, I tried to hit an early showing to avoid crowds, it was a good thing I did there were huge lines of people that they had waiting over to the side. I assumed it was for Hairspray, but my sister insisted HP. I went up and asked a woman in line though and she said the line was for Hairspray so yay to that. I still like HP though I haven't yet gotten to see OOTP.
20I'm seeing both this weekend (after I'm finished with DH of course), but I'm pretty sure Potter is going to keep the title this weekend. Hairspray was incredible though, so it would be possible for it to top.
21Hairspray!!=]
