While I couldn't be in LA myself to cover the CBS portion of the TCA press tour, I've been keeping an eye on the news coming out of the sessions. Here are some of the best bits so far:
- "Jericho" producers promised their rabid fans a big-time payoff in the new season's first episode, wrapping up the cliffhangers left during the battle in the finale. And, if you were wondering, CBS did serve nuts at the session; they also gave out T-shirts emblazoned with a powerful peanut.
- CBS has been selling "Kid Nation," its fall reality show about a town completely run by kids, with the tagine "40 days, 40 kids, no adults." But that's not entirely true: A pediatrician and a child psychologist were among the grownups around.
- Do you ever get annoyed with the networks when live sports programs run into primetime, pushing out your favorite shows and throwing off your TiVo? CBS thinks it has the solution: Viewers can register with the new Eye-lert service to be notified by e-mail or text message when games run late.
- This TV Guide live blog includes some of the other tidbits from the sessions, including the "Survivor"-themed lunch (no, you didn't have to complete a challenge before eating) and some unintentionally funny bits from the "Viva Laughlin" panel.

Wow, how cool CBS handed out T-shirt and nuts. I love this show you should give it a try. Right now the reruns are on Friday nights at 9 eastern 8 central.
1Great show. I have recruited new viewers. Try it out this summer and you will be waiting for the season premiere with us.
2Worth the watch. Lets rally behind this show before we get more
3CSI's.
I watched the rerun of the premiere but then last week they like just recapped the first 11 episodes or something, which frustrates me. I hate those recap shows. I want to see the whole season!
4Neural, I know what you mean! I read somewhere that they wanted to get quickly to the second half of the season because it was better than the first half, though, which I guess I understand -- if those first 11 weren't as good, maybe people wouldn't stick around.
5It's such a great show and not just because it can help make people aware that there is the possibility of survival after a nuclear attack. The characters are great and the plot is engrossing. I thought the season finale was completely frustrating and really lost it when I heard the show was cancelled. I've told several people I know to tune in...hopefully new viewers will help CBS keep the show on the air.
