All of the new DVD releases hit stores (and Netflix) on Tuesdays. So each week in What to Netflix: New DVD Tuesday, I sort through the best of the batch and tell you what to add to your queue. This week I can also tell you what not to rent: Premonition starring Sandra Bullock. You will most likely regret it.
Factory Girl
Despite the controversy this movie stirred up during production, the film didn't do well at the box office, nor did it wow the critics. Still, it's an interesting movie to see because of the time period it deals with and the subject matter: Edie Sedgwick. Sienna Miller channels Sedgwick, the glamorous starlet of the 1960s who became pop artist Andy Warhol's (played by Guy Pearce) muse. In the movie Sedgwick also flirts with a musician character (played by Hayden Christiansen) who is clearly based on Bob Dylan. The movie chronicles Sedgwick's rise to fame and subsequent fall into obscurity. The costumes in this film are fantastic, as is Miller's makeup, both of which you can get for yourself, thanks to my friend Fab!

psh. netflixing? i'm OWNING THIS asap!
1I liked premonition, although I have to admit, I am the only person I know who did. not sure why I did, but there ya go.
2Although it wasn't an amazing film. I thought it was a lot better than it was made out to be. Sienna and Hayden were good. I thought Guy Pierce was really believable as Andy though.
3this movie was SO good!
4I saw Premonition! I had no clue what it was supposed to be about because I never saw a trailer for it before I watched the movie. It was strange though.
5Most Pittsburghers love to hate this movie because of Sienna's conduct during the filming, but I'm still anxious to see this one.

7I enjoyed this movie as well, I've seen it several times. Guy Pierce did a really great job as Andy and Sienna's acting is flawless in this one.
8lintacious - my boyfriend always goes by rotten tomatoes ratings b/c they are usually correct
9I'm interested in seeing this just because I love the 60's, Warhol, and Dylan.
10i want to see both factory girl & premonition. i might wait 'til they come on hbo though.
11I definitely will rent Factory Girl. I'm in the minority in the Blogosphere: I actually LIKE Sienna Miller
12Liked "Premonition" - hated "Factory Girl".
13Factory Girl wasn't as great as I expected it to be. Guy Pierce was unbelievable as Andy Warhol -- he sounded nothing like him and barely looked the part. Hayden Christenson was terrible as Edie's rockstar boyfriend [intended to be a Bob Dylan type]. Sienna Miller was the one who carried the entire movie and made it somewhat interesting.
