Now we know which Springfield truly rules them all: Springfield, Vt.! The small town got 15,000 votes in USA Today's Springfields poll and will get to host The Simpsons Movie's July 21 premiere.
The town of 9,300 apparently was too small to be invited into participate in the contest at first and only got involved after seeing a news report and asking to be included. But their video — which featured a Homer-like character chasing a giant, pink-frosted donut past town landmarks — edged out larger, relatively more famous Springfields to score the premiere. Illinois came in second, with Oregon not far behind in third. Poor Florida didn't do so well, languishing in 14th place.
Nearly 110,000 people voted in the contest overall, and of course, Vermont's win is likely to draw some ire from supporters of the other Springfields. To them, Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas had just one thing to say: "Don't have a cow, man."

5haha damn you VT i'm from springfield MA!!! Grrrrr
6apparently we suck , lol
I wanted IL to win eventhough I'm a Sconnie. It seemed to fit the characters. Oh well, Congrats Vermont!!!
7Brattleboro!!!!! I love that place! We stopped and stayed a night there while on the road on our way back from the last Phish show in Coventry (my fiance and I were/are those pesky Phish tour heads. Been to more shows than we can count..lol)It was cool because we drove there on 8/16 and spent the night and my birthday is the 17th so we got up early and spent the day hanging out-ate at the best little pizza place Ive ever had...and I hate pizza. This was seriously mind blowing pizza. Anyway, hung out a bit before we had to drive back home to St. Louis...Such a good time. Best. Birthday. Ever. Everyone in that town was soo nice, as well as the folks in Vt., totally. I love Vermont. It's so beautiful and they try like hell to keep the major corporate take over and urban sprawl from ruining the place...Of all the places Ive been and tour took us ALOT of places-the east coast is my favorite and Vermont especially. I love the heavy emphasis on supporting their local companies and local growers/farmers. I want to go back..lol. If you haven't been there, go!!!! You wont regret it.
8crappy movie!!
9this movie wasn't nearly as funny as i thought it'd be. that made me sad. *sniff*
