This JANE mag news is devastating! Why? Just when I was beginning to like it again! Now what magazine am I going to read when I don't want stupid fluff?
1hmmm...
2I'm bummed about Jane...I actually subscribe to it. It was one of the more "real" mags...
3Thanks for all the updates, Buzz. Sad news about Jane. But great news (I think) about Water for Elephants. The novel is wonderful.
4I read Jane from time to time, but I really think it jumped the shark when Pratt herself left.
5Though I love reading magazines never really got into Jane. That's because the first mag I read from them was way back in my middle school years with Pamela Anderson as the cover girl. Sort of turn me off, but now hearing how you guys are saying that it's one of the few "real" magazines made me want read the magazine. Sadly I think I'm too late.
Since I'm studying journalism, it always sadden me that a print publication has closed down. There are so many great magazines out there that people aren't reading. Hmmm...makes me want to create a group.
Lalaluarie How about Glamous. It's the one of the two magazines I read and own every issue (the other being Lucky). It's a magazine that covers real issues and have yet to have Nicole, Paris and such celebs on their covers.
Lastly very excited about the Water for Elephants. I have been eyeing the book in stores for weeks but haven't read it. This news now, however, will make me want to read.
6hahaha okay I should have proofread what I typed because my first two paragraphs are contradicting one another. Opps. Let me clarify this:
I was in middle school when I first came across Jane so it didn't appeal to me especially with Pamela Anderson as their cover girl. I was still into magazines like YM Seventeen and Teen People. It wasn't until in high school that I started to read great magazines such as RollingStone, Glamour, Allure, In Style etc. Sadly I never gave Jane another chance. With all that said I guess I can label myslef as "one of the people who isn't reading ENOUGH reat magazines out there."
Alright my novel is done and ready to be publish. lol.
7Micheal Cassidy is a sexy beast, and was amazing on Hidden Palms. I'm not sure if he's old enough to play an editor of an extremely successful newspaper though....
8Oh well, who cares - he's HOT!
I've read Glamour but I don't really care much about the fashion or the beauty stuff. I don't know. I still found it lacking. Guess I'll go back to reading Bust. At least I think that magazine is still around...
9Jane got too kinky and dumb for the sake of being kinky and dumb. It used to be cool, but it became self-consciously cool, which just isn't the same thing. One is gneuine, the other is forced. Bye -bye, Jane. It was time for you to go...
10water for elephants is such a great book - i hope the movie is good!
11nooooo. I love Jane
