So You Think You Can Dance season five has come to a close, and we're already talking about (not to mention talking to) the winner. But there's still much to discuss about Thursday's results show.

What did you think of the favorite routines, the group numbers, and the overall results? To chat about it, just read more.
- If there was anything shocking in Thursday's show for me, it was Kayla finishing in fourth place. I think this is where the "favorite" part of the America's favorite dancer title really took over: She's incredibly proficient technically, but I'm not sure that her personality won a huge segment of the audience over. Compare that with Evan, who finished above her despite a rough outing and harsh comments from the judges on Wednesday. He had the whole Kodak chanting his name at one point — and I think that's a likability thing, not a dancing thing.
- That said . . . when it came down to Brandon vs. Jeanine for the final two, I knew I'd be happy with either winner. It was a cool feeling and not unlike how I felt during this year's American Idol finale. Brandon had obviously been a strong competitor from the start, but Jeanine really came on strong later in the season. Is there a moment you started to think she could win? For me, it was her Travis Wall-choreographed duet with Jason — but I'm not sure I really believed she could take the title until her solo on Wednesday.
- I always love seeing which routines the judges pick as their favorites. Were there any surprises for you in this set? When I saw Jeanine and Phillip come on the stage, I was sure it would be the chained-together hip-hop routine. I was shocked that it was a number I barely remembered from the first week of the season! There were actually a couple of early routines in there: I'd also nearly forgotten Kayla and Max's ballroom number from the first show.
- I wasn't at all surprised to see Melissa and Ade's breast cancer routine again (and I'm glad Tyce could share his friend's joy), nor was I shocked to see the addiction routine. I was surprised by Debbie's pick of the "Calle Ocho" group number — but I have to say, it was so much cooler than I remembered. I'm glad to have gotten to see it again.
- Looking back, which do you think was the strongest couple of the season? I have to go with Brandon and Janette. They were the only couple to have two routines in the judges' favorites.
- What did you think of Australia's favorite dancer? Could she compete here? On a related note, I think Sonya is quickly becoming my favorite SYTYCD choreographer.
- The littlest Rage Boy just kills me. He's so tiny!
- I was worried Evan wasn't going to end up with any routines in the favorites! But no — "the butt routine" made an appearance. That's definitely in my top tier for the year, so I was thrilled that it got an encore. But I did feel terrible for Evan that he had to get sent home while wearing that silly, oversized suit.
Overall, how do you feel about season five? Are you any more or less likely to check out season six in the Fall?

Ray-Ban
I will never support the use of that oversized suit... he looks ridiculous!
Glad Brandon and Jeanine were top two!
Wish we could have seen the crash test dummies or jewel thieves routines. Both very entertaining.
Brandon and Janette were definitely the best original pairing. I dont think they had one misstep while they were together.
1So glad Jeanine won, though I would've been just as happy if Brandon or even Kayla won.
Where were Wade Robson's routines!?!?! I really wanted to see Ruby Blue with Janette and Brandon (by far the best couple).
Finally, I have to hand it to Mia...her Addiction piece was even better this time around, with Kupono looking exceptionally creepy and Kayla giving it her all despite her knowing that she had come in fourth place.
So glad I don't have to wait a year to see the next season!
2So excited that Jeanine won! Brandon is far too smug for his own good.
3I wished we could have seen more of Mel and Ade - loved their Sonyah number (neon pink) and Right Here Waiting, really wanted to see Ruby Blue (jewel thieves) again, also Love Lockdown, Battlefield and the Zombie dance. I was disappointed with the judge's picks. Oh well. This season has been kind of meh for me so no surprise it ended on a meh note.
4Oh yeah Felicityporter (best show!) the Zombie Dance was Shane's best of the season and I thought one of Jason's best performances (2nd to Travis' contemp.)
Was it me or did there seem to be a lot less hip hop this time around? (although if it's by Tabitha and napoleon I'll pass, they're too predictable and literal --- but no crump?) Also, why so few Many Moore dances??
5Too bad there were no Wade Robson routnes in the finale. Those were MY faves..
6I was very happy to see the addiction piece and Travis Wall's piece again. Kayla did an amazing job, despite her already knowing she hadn't won. Kayla is definitely going to go far. I missed the majority of the hip-hop/salsa fusion group dance when it originally aired, so it was great to see it.
7why bring the rage boys back? they are terrible. I dont care if it is a bunch of kids.
Glad Kayla got 4th putting your leg in the air during solo performances isnt dancing and it sure isnt enough to impress me.Jeanine had more personality AND range in her solos.
Evan made me cry.
8Did anyone else think that the camera work was kind of bad??
9Maybe it was partly my small(and non-widescreen) tv, but at some times it was hard to follow the routines because of the strange angles that were shown.
YellinIn, yes! It was sooo distracting.
10I'm not sure what it looked like on TV, but in the theater they literally had a guy running around the dancers with a camera for some of those big circle shots. It was pretty crazy to watch.
11Great recap, Buzz! Jeanine was one of my favorites from the start, so I was very pleased that she won. Totally surprised by Kayla's #4 finish, though; didn't see that coming at all. Australia's favorite dancer just didn't seem to match up with the US competition, but she held her own; working with Sonya for the first time must have been a challenge. And speaking of Sonya, I agree: she has quickly become one of my favorites as well. Glad you got to see it live; the theater looks incredible.
12The camera work on this show has been a problem for me since season 1 and it's only getting worse!!! They try to do too much, I would love to be able to actually WATCH the dances.
13"why bring the rage boys back? they are terrible. I dont care if it is a bunch of kids."
I thought the camera work was bad too.
I loved the addiction piece, and I also wish there was more Ade/Melissa in the finale. They really didn't need to do the Chorus Line with some "Oh gosh where are the judges....THERE they are!!!!" cheesiness. They danced what, two 8 counts and stood for 3 minutes while everyone cheered? Lame.
14just a note on Talia Fowler, the Australian SYTYCD season 2 winner...she made it over to the US with a day to learn the choreography, and if you were able to see any of the Australian show you would see that she, and the majority of our top 20, could more than hold their own with the US top 20
15If only she could have choreographed her piece, the routine she performed was not right for that stage
