Apparently, musical episodes of TV shows are the new black. I told you a while back that "Ugly Betty" was mulling a musical episode, and now, according to Variety, "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry is thinking about getting Wisteria Lane to sing and dance, too. If one more show breaks into song, I'll be ready to declare this a full-out trend. So, which show would you bet will be next?

how i met your mothre would be great! neil patrick harris has done broadway and it would be hilarious
I don't know, but it better not be Lost. That would be stupid. Shonda Rhimes has lost her grip enough at Grey's Anatomy to consider something so ludicrous, though. Maybe Meredith will die again, but it will be done musical style, with her dead mother, dead dog and dead Denny all doing the tango.
Well I think first of all...it would have to be a comedy that does this (which leaves the Office and How I Met Your Mother). But, the Office is shot in a mockumentary style, so although it's currently in the lead for its own musical, I think it's unlikely that they would do one (because it would break the style of the show...) Although I've never seen How I Met Your Mother, I think that they would do a musical before the Office would.
For some reason I went for the Office. xD Although now that I think of it, it's hard to comprehend, but it's the most likely out of the rest on the poll.. Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Heroes, those I definitely can NOT see breaking into song.
The Office musical could be fun. Who knows, though, "Grey's the Musical" could be just as good--if not better--than the real drama! Chandra Wilson could bring her Broadway talent to the show. Actually, maybe it will be Private Practice since Audra McDonald has just been added to the cast.
I love the Buffy musical a few years back. I think it's so much fun when tv shows do episodes like this!
Law & Order: SVU?? Now thats something i gotta see! lol i think how i met your mother would be the most likely
I would LOVE to see The Office do a musical. Comedies seem to do really well with musicals, I loved the one that Scrubs did!
i would LOVE an "office" musical. but Mainly Obsessed is totally right, it is highly unlikely because of the style, but man, i sure love the thought.
Hey, Buffy did it first YEARS ago, and the big deal about Buffy's was that it was all manner of professional and it fit into the plot scheme AND the overall theme of the show.
Scrubs was able to pull off plot scheme and theme, and the majority of songs were good, but I didn't buy the CD on iTunes (however, I do own Buffy).
I can't really see how any of THESE shows could find a way to mesh a musical with both plot and theme - but maybe the Office. I would love to see Steve Carell singning.
I'm not a fan of musicals so really hope they don't do it to a show I like
Yeah. I voted from HIMYM. I've never seen the show but with the rest of the choices, it was between that and TO and because TO is a mockumentary... a musical is a huge no-no to the production and the viewers.
On How I Met Your Mother that could be fun.
the office would be hilarious!!!
if Lost or Heroes ever became musicals I would stop watching them immediately. that would be really bad. but i think How I Met Your Mother would be good and so would The Office.
I hate TV show musical episodes but I think if The Office did one it would be hilarious!
How I Met Your Mother will do it. even though I wish the office would, the closest it ever gets is Steve Carrall singing. I personally think a law and order svu musical would be effing BRILLIANT.... but I think the Law and Order franchise will probably be the first out of that list to make a broadway musical.
hahaha. law and order svu would be HILARIOUS. like they're looking at the scene of the crime and mariska hagarty(sp?) breaks into song...priceless.
It all started with Buffy...that was an awesome episode!
like in buffy? maybe house?
