Fresh off the news that Dana Delaney is in talks to join the cast of "Desperate Housewives," there's some speculation today about who could be playing her character's "much-younger husband" when the family moves to Wisteria Lane. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Nathan Fillion is talking to the network about playing the role.
I was a little late to the Fillion bandwagon, but I loved him in Waitress, and he's still got a ton of fans from his "Firefly" days. Those fans didn't really help out "Drive" this spring, though, so I'm not sure he'd bring a flood of new viewers over to Wisteria Lane. Even in today's cancellation-happy TV world, he and Delaney seem to have an inordinate number of canned shows between them — "Kidnapped," "Related," "Pasadena," "Miss Match." Still, she has an Emmy and he has a following, so maybe together they'd bring a new energy to the show. Lyndsy Fonseca, whom I recognize from a ton of TV guest-starring roles, is reportedly in negotiations to play their daughter.
What do you think? Could Wisteria Lane handle another family? And would Fillion bring any non-"Housewives" fans into the show's fold?

Loved him in Firefly and Waitress! I think he would be a yummy addition to DH!
1He had a much older lover when he was on One Life to Live...
2he just doesnt have the face or the talent to hold a show, maybe as a supporting character but never as a leading. I loved him in Buffy, he was terrible in firefly, Drive was the same boring thing. now its desperate housewives? egad
3Oh be still my heart. I love him so much, since buffy and firefly. I'd watch him in anything, especially if he was shirtless.
4CaterpillarGirl,
You don't have a clue. Nathan Fillion is awesome. 'Drive' was just too terribly boring and contrived of a 'vehicle' to really showcase his talents. He's bound to be an amazing addition to any project. And he more than did a great job in Firefly. You can blame Fox execs for that one.
5I love Nathan Fillion (he was the only thing that made Drive watchable and I love Serenity/Firefly!)... his presence might be enough to make me give Desperate Housewives another try. But he deserves so much better!
6Also...
Why can't the Heroes producers write him a part?! That would be so much better! Two great tastes that taste great together!
(I'd settle for seeing more of him on Lost, too.)
7I agree Sassette, I think he would be much more suited for Heroes or Lost. Desperate Housewives is no longer a great show; no one should be subject to acting with Eva "annoying" Longoria.
8Many years ago he was on One Life to Live as Joey and he was dating Dorian who was probably at least 30 years older than him! I think my sister fell in love with him that summer!
9i love him. he has like this permanently stressed look on his face...its cute. i loved him on drive, and i think i'm the only person who watched that. *sigh*
10He would be a perfect addition to DH. I love " 2 Guys, A Girl And a Pizza Place." Plus it had my other fave - Ryan Reynolds. I love Nathan's film "Slither", it mixes comedy and a campy- horror film perfectly.
11I would watch him in anything, this guy's awesome.
12Ooo, I hope so, he would be a nice addition.
13I think Mal Reynolds is too good for DH!
14I think this would bring a good element to the show. I love Desperate Housewives, but I don't know where they're going with it next season.
15kerfuffle- sorry i thought this was a forum for opinions? maybe i am wrong.....
16I hate DW, so no.
