Cameron Diaz will be trying her hand at a thriller, The Box.
Why I'm excited:
The movie is written and directed by Richard Kelly, who also brought us the creepy cult classic Donnie Darko.
What's it about?
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie is based on a Richard Matheson short story about an unhappy couple who receive a box with a mysterious button; at the push of the button, they become wealthy — but they also kill someone they don't know.
I'm a little confused:
I can't say I've ever thought of Cameron Diaz as a horror actress; she just seems so perky and giddy and happy all the time.
Odd bit of trivia:
"Button Button," the story The Box will be based on, also was adapted into an episode of "The Twilight Zone" in the '80s.

Am I the only one out there who really didn't like Donnie Darko?
1Should be pretty interesting, I'm not the biggest fan of hers. But, I really love a good thriller/horror movie.

7I love Donny Darko so I'm excited Richard Kelly is making another movie. Only downside...Cameron Diaz...not a big fan of hers.
8I loved Donnie Darko...until the end. There's a DVD out there with the director's original ending, which I think is quite better than the previous one.
9You must have missed Vanilla Sky, where Cammy was dark and disturbed and thoroughly convincing!
10Cameron Diaz actually had done some dark, serious work such as John Malcovich, Gangs of New York, Vanilla Sky and more so I do have faith on her acting chops on this movie. My only concern is who they would cast as a husband. That would be more interesting to hear about actually.

12Ugh..Cammie was completely misscast in Gangs of New York.She was great in John Malcovich,though.I saw The Holiday yesterday, and I have never seen anyone overact more than her in that movie-the was awful.
