Who's excited for tonight's return of new episodes of "Degrassi: The Next Generation"? Besides, um, me? The show's most recent U.S. run ended over the winter with the death of J.T., and I've been craving more cheesy, intense teen drama ever since. While many of the "Degrassi" crew are still in high school, it looks like this season will also keep following the original cast members who are now in college. This scene from tonight's episode, for example, shows Paige having a panic attack during a college test.
So I suppose it makes sense that The N is also launching its first all-college series, "The Best Years," tonight right after "Degrassi." Created by a former "Degrassi" executive producer, "The Best Years" follows a group of freshmen (including main character Samantha Best, groan) at a prestigious Massachusetts university. From the clips I've seen, this one looks to be a little too over-the-top, but it's at least trying to follow in "Degrassi"'s quippy footsteps. I used to love the original Degrassi when I was little. I never really got into the new one though. Could have been because I kept seeing the new little actors everywhere just being kids, and watching them pretend to do the same thing on tv just wasn't appealing. They were at malls, walking down the streets, and one of them almost ran me over at a starbucks.

5I was too excited to wait for the N to air the new season of Degrassi that I went ahead and downloaded the rest of the season lol but I am excited to see the new show after Degrassi. I will have to watch it tomorrow though because I work tonight.

9Degrassi is one show I never get tired of. Although I do get tired of certain characters (namely Darcy and Peter. Why must JT get killed, and not one of those two?). Paige, Ellie, Marco, Ashley, Spinner, and Liberty are my reasons for loving that show. Supposedly, the next season (which is rumored to be the second half of the Emma gang's senior year), could be the last. If so, they should just spin off Ellie, Paige, and Marco into their own series.

I soo ready for the new degrassi season. I have been watching countless marathons in the past few weeks, so i'm up to date. This show is so addictive. And i might try out the best years. It seem okay.

15It's so relieveing to see that I'm not the only person over 16 years of age who watches DeGrassi. My little sis got me hooked years ago and I even watched the old 80s original. Any votes on who sluts it up, who gets pregnant, and who goes to prison?

until dec) to watch all the episodes i've missed! I find that show best when i watch a bunch of episodes at once rather than once a week or whatever.
