The Scavos, Hodges, and Solises are getting some new neighbors. An Italian family is moving to Desperate Housewives's Wisteria Lane — led by Drea de Matteo of The Sopranos.
The Emmy-winning de Matteo, most recently seen on TV in Sons of Anarchy, will be a series regular, playing the "vixenish" new housewife. And she's not coming alone: the show is currently casting for her husband (a landscape designer) and the couple's tightly wound son.
Desperate Housewives has really shaken things up over the past couple of seasons, and I think adding a new housewife to the mix could keep the momentum going — especially since we've said goodbye to Edie. Plus, I think de Matteo's a good pick to bring some sass (and maybe some new dark secrets?) to the show. What do you think of the casting? And which housewife do you think de Matteo's character will butt heads with first?

Wonderful IDEA!!! I just love Drea. She's an excellent choice to join the DH cast. I can't wait to see her! She'll add sizzle to a sizzlin' show!

2does anyone know when desperate housewives on television in the US? i'm on a holiday in miami and would love to see DH, because here in my country Dh won't be on until neyt year.
3I hope they make the Italian family out to be a typical mob-like family. I feel like most Italians on television are made out to be in the mob, and I find it a little insulting.

7DH is one of my favorite programs and Drea is a wonderful choice for a new housewife. She will bring a new attitude to the neighbor. Like others said, I hope they keep the family longer than one season.
8I don't watch Housewives but I hope this means she'll be making less and less appearances on Sons of Anarchy...nothing against her, her character just gets on my nerves.
