Crazy interesting news:
Morgan Freeman will portray former South African President Nelson Mandela in The Human Factor, a drama based on an upcoming book titled The Human Factor: Nelson Mandela and the Game That Changed the World.
According to the article...
"Pic is set after the fall of apartheid, when South Africa was host to the 1995 Rugby World Cup. Mandela was in his first term as South African president, and he used the event as a way to end decades of mistrust and hatred between whites and blacks."
Morgan Freeman is amazing:
Apparently, Freeman has traveled to South Africa to discuss the project with Mandela. "'I have known Nelson Mandela personally for quite some time, and am continually in awe of his enormous presence in the world,' Freeman said. 'The opportunity to portray him in this film is a great honor.'"

Well this was a role waiting to happen. I think Freeman will be amazing (even if Evan was a clunker). This movie, although I know absolutely nothing about it whatsoever, might just be an Oscar contender when it comes out. I mean...it's got --
1.) The Africa element (Blood Diamond, Hotel Rwanda, Constant Gardener, Last King of Scotland). Africa seems to be Oscar gold right now.
2.) Morgan Freeman, one of the greatest actors out there, imo
3.) It has a crazy good story to run with.
I hope I'm right though...Morgan is amazing! He shouldn't be stuck doing crap like Evan Almighty.
1Morgan Freeman is so talented; this role seems perfect for him. I agree with Mainly Obsessed: his talent is wasted in films like Evan Almighty.
2This film would be an amazing role for Freeman to portray a brilliant president. As a South African I really look forward to this coming to fruition.
3Makes sense...who else could possibly play Nelson Mandela? Him being a brilliant actor doesn't hurt either.
4I smell Oscar, lol!
5That's amazing. Can't wait.
6Yeah,I think he was born to play this role...
7He was *so* amazing in the Shawshank Redemption
8I can totally see him as Nelson Mandela. Though, I can't get over the fact he narrated March of the Penguins!
9Looking at the pics side by side, there are alot of similiarities. I love Morgan; he always makes a horrible movie into a great movie.
10cool
11Love Morgan!
12This is very interesting!
13good idea
