The Secret Life of the American Teenager is one of those shows I just can't quit. Sure, the show's made me roll my eyes plenty of times over its two seasons, and it still hasn't lived up to Greek in my personal ABC Family series power rankings, but it's also succeeded in sucking me in completely to the world of Amy, Ricky, Ben, and the rest.
And now, with the show's third season premiering tonight, I'm even more curious to tune in than usual. When it started, Secret Life was about a teenager trying to deal with the complications of an unexpected pregnancy and her tortuous decision about what to do next. Now, though, it's about a teen mother with a new infant to care for, a continuing battle between her son's father and her boyfriend, and a bunch of new issues with her own mom that should create some drama in the weeks to come. How will things be different for the show now that there's a baby around?
I can't think of many shows that have followed a teen pregnancy and then stuck around to show us what it's like after the baby's born. Is that a story you're interested in seeing — and will the show's relatively huge audience come back to watch it? Do you wish they'd kept Amy pregnant for a while longer? Or do you just tune in to check up on what Molly Ringwald's doing these days?
Secret Life airs tonight before the series premiere of Make It or Break It, and you can check out a preview clip if you read more.

This show is sooooooooo bad. It's like one big cringe.
1I have to admit, this show is one of my guilty pleasures, but I am afraid it might have jumped the shark with Amy having her baby.
2it's really sad but i'm excited about the premiers tonight on ABC Family. secret life is one of my closet favs and i think that i'd like make it or break it too. i was watching stick it last night and it seems like a tv version of that
3It is one big cringe, fleur. I can't even watch the previews without cringing!
4I never watch this show. Mainly because I can't get my head around the fact that someone could be pregnant for 2 seasons.
5I don't like the idea of the show at all. I mean, after I heard on one episode (yes, I watched) "But I'm pregnant" in a cheerful tone, like, a day after she told her mom she was knocked up, my jaw dropped to the floor. That would never happen. Ever. And it's not something I would go talking all happily about. I think it just glamorizes teen pregnancy. It makes it seem better than it is. Supportive mom, choosing between two guys, a baby daddy who is involved and a boyfriend who cares...its so improbable in the real world, and we shouldn't display fiction of this nature to girls who right now, are getting into a world of sh*t of their own by getting pregnant.
6This show is terrible. My little sister loves it so I've caught a few episodes and I wish I could have those couple hours back.
7i'm wondering if this is something i can try and find to watch online.
i love this rubbish!!!!!
hahaha x
8I watched this back when it first premiered. I tried to get into it, but I found it horrible. I can't watch, it's full of Christian undertones that it makes me want to throw up. I'm glad Molly has a job again.
