I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! It was more like the book than the 1970s version.

Johnny looks completely insane as usual. He's a genius.

They all look so great! I'm SO excited! But I want to see a closeup of Alice.

I am so friggin' excited. AIW is one of my favorite books and Burton is one of my favorite directors. And Johnny, of course! xo

More faithful to the book does not automatically make it a better movie. Kubrik's Shining was so so so much better than the The Shining that was King approved.

But I do want to see this, even if it is just for the art direction

I'm so excited about this movie! I love Alice in Wonderland. HBC looks awesome but I'm a little bit worried about Johnny Depp. I usually love him but I was not impressed by his Willy Wonka and I'm not sure about him as the Mad Hatter.

I just finished reading Alice in Wonderland and I'm actually annoyed because the film adaptations combine it with its sequel, Through the Looking Glass. In the first book it's the Queen of Hearts, in the second its the Red Queen and it bothers me when they get combined.

That said Burton is a genius and I'll see any movie with Johnny so you will probably catch me in the theaters for this one

Burton should bring an interesting twist and boy, do I love Depp, Carter and Hathaway. Stellar cast.

P.S. It's not going to be a remake of Alice in Wonderland, it's a RETELLING. This movie is set 10 years after the events of the book, and Alice is returning to visit Wonderland.

i've seen every depp movie and he hasn't disappointed yet. looking forward to this. the get up alone is reason to see the movie. as usual, with burton at the helm, it'll be one weird acid trip of a movie. can't wait!

Alice is being played by an Australian actress. Her name eludes me at the moment.

And I think it's great that Burton isn't just retelling the story.

From what I've read, Alice returns to Wonderland, but doesn't remember having been there before.

Alice is played by Mia Wasikowska and she's 19 years old.

I really want to see this: the combination Burton + Depp has never disappointed me and yes, I think Charlie & The Chocolate Factory is better than the original one with Gene Wilder (though I love both films).

I agree with the original poster, I hope this is better than Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But I won't watch it, I detest Alice in Wonderland. And I'm soooo over the Johnny Depp/Tim Burton partnership. But the pictures do look cool.
