The Proposal, starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, took the box office by storm over the weekend earning $34.1 million and securing the No. 1 spot. This was Bullock's best opening ever! Woo-hoo!
Both The Hangover and Up continued doing good business coming in second and third place respectively. Jack Black and Michael Cera's primitive buddy comedy, Year One, came in at No. 4 earning an estimated $20.2 million. The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 rounded out the top five.

The Proposal was kind of predictable, but it was funnier than I thought it would be! I'd definitely recommend it.
1i'm THRILLED that the Proposal did so well - i went to see it and it surpassed all my hopes and expectations. it was hysterical and i adore both of them!
2This movie was definately a must-see! One of the funniest romantic comedies I've seen in a while. Ryan and Sandra were both terrific in their roles. I dragged my boyfriend to see it with me and he was cracking up throughout the entire movie! :]

8I watched an advanced screening last Tuesday and I totally love the bags and the fashion. I love the movie! It was one of her best comedies ever! So happy that it make it to number 1
