Tonight Jada Pinkett Smith returns to the small screen for the first time in years. She stars in the new TNT drama, HawthoRNe. Like another new show, Showtime's Nurse Jackie, HawthoRNe follows the personal and professional tribulations of a nurse.
Christina Hawthorne (Smith) may be small, but when it comes to fighting for her patients and their families, she's a force to be reckoned with. By the looks of preview clips and the scene I've included below, this is one TV nurse who is bound to make a lasting impression.
In addition to fighting for her patients at work, Hawthorne fights to remain sane at home. The show takes place one year after her husband's death and we watch the tough nurse struggle to manage her own grief while also trying to be there for her rebellious daughter, Camille. The show also stars Michael Vartan as chief of surgery and Suleka Mathew, among others. Her personal life aside, Hawthorne seems like the kind of flawed but dedicated nurse people might look up to.
After the jump I have a preview clip from tonight's premiere, so read more.

Looking forward to watching tonight.
1It takes a lot to get me into another medical type show but I really like Jada so I will watch it.
2Nurses are watching this series pretty closely. Is it fair? Accurate? Free of gross clinical errors? Entertaining?
America's RN union is collecting reviews and opinions by nurses about the show, which we'll share with the executive producers. If you're a nurse, drop by RNVoices.net to add your thoughts. You can also learn about the national nurses movement and our new legislation for national safe RN-to-patient ratios....
3I really don't like that it's spelled like that...
4Re-capping the needle after the insulin injection!!! That's a no no!
5Who sung the songs on the show

It was ok. Kinda seemed like a recycled ER but Jada does a great job and the supporting cast is pretty good.
8I thought it was really bad....
9Hello all!
10This morning I have found a very cool cartoon about the office workers everyday life.
I recommend this for all to elevate your mood.
I helped))
You can watch this toon
I thought show was Great. The cast seems to have pretty good chemistry. By the way the song that was on at the end is "Lesson Learned" by Alicia Keys ft. John Mayer. Great show Jada!
11I thought the show was alright, for what it is. I read in an interview with Jada's mom about how she was doing on the show and it makes sense when you see it.
12I have a really stupid question..does anyone know if the actress who plays Bobbie(Suleka Mathew)really has a prosthetic leg or not? I remember her on Men In Trees but i can't remember ever seeing her legs. Thanks to anyone who can help.
13I like the personal things going on in the show, however, not all the medical things are completely accurate. Nurses are watching....you know, finally a show to spotlight the nursing profession. Could anyone tell me the name of the song at the end of the second episode? It played during the scene in the firehouse.
14I cannot believe the episode this evening! ( Hawthorne: Yielding) What happen to personal space. How is possible to believe that the intrusion into people's private, most vulnerable moments are an opportunity to showcase sensitivity. Is this the new youth generated environment ? Does youth mean an entire disregard for privacy? How is it a wonderful insight to take pictures of people in their moments of great pain and weakness? it is only beautiful when the people are clearly asked; that must be a part of the scene anything else screams entitlement, imperialism, and a total lack of individual rights. This was the most poorly written television episode I have had the misfortune to view in a long time. I hated the idea that young people will see this and think that a tender soundtrack and meaningful looks replace personal autonomy and an individual’s right to the ownership of their private personal intimate moments. This on top of the fact that some people, whole cultures in fact, have issues about their loss of power when forced to be into an institution such as a hospital: the invisibility, the coldness, the separation from friends and family. Yes this is the time for some self- indulgent entitled teenager to snap a photo for youtube. Even the most insensitive dolt can understand that this moment (helpless in a hospital bed, ravaged by grief, weakened by confusion and pain) may not be the best time to take a picture for your personal enjoyment. Sounds somewhat sadistic doesn’t?
15No the actress playing Bobbie does not have a prosthetic leg, trick photography
16In Yielding that song they played at the end. Who sings it and the name of the song thank you Jamie
