Phew! It's finally here. The fact that we've waited this long for the The Time Traveler's Wife trailer — and the fact that the release date has been pushed back (originally to February 2010!) — had me mighty worried, not gonna lie. I wondered if there were serious issues with the movie that might ultimately delay the release even more, or I thought the studio was ashamed of it! But now the trailer is here and it's just . . . beautiful. And tender, and sweet, and filled with love.
For those who haven't read the book, it's a story about Henry (Eric Bana) and Clare (Rachel McAdams) whose love is unique because Henry can travel through time. Their relationship spans Clare's entire life as Henry travels to various points in Claire's past and future. The movie is now scheduled to open Aug. 14. To check out the trailer, read more.

Looks SO GOOD! I had some reservations about a movie being made out of this fantastic book, but if the trailer is any indication, I think I'll be a happy girl on August 14.
The de-materializing effect looks weird..not quite how I pictured it, but I'm so excited to see this movie!!! The book made me cry.
I love Rachel McAdams because she's so pretty and so talented. I'll watch this movie just because she's in it.
One of the best books I've ever read. It made me cry. And so did this trailer. CAN'T WAIT!!
wow! it looks pretty great!
should i read the book first? cause i never read books after i watch the film and wouldn't like to miss a good book...
I have been meaning to read this book, but kept on deferring it,but after seeing this beautiful trailer i can't wait to start..
such a good book! I am wary of the film version of any book I like, but I will give it a shot.
I can't wait for this movie! The book was so beautiful and the casting is perfect!
Oh my goodness, this looks amazing!!! I cried watching the trailer, I can't wait to read the book. I hope I can finish reading it before the movie comes out.
clara91, I would definitely suggest reading the book. It's AMAZING
I wish I liked Rachel McAdams, but I really would have preferred someone else. I'll still see the movie though since I loved the book so much.
the book is my absolute favorite. however, while im reallly looking forward to the movie, the trailer "seems" to have a lot more focus on her than henry. i hope its just me and not the direction the movie took!
i guess i'll have to go out and get the book since every one who commented loved it!
It's look a bit cheesy but sweet and i love Rachel McAdams , Eric Bana is a ok actor but not very good, i will see it in dvd .
I can't wait- it looks so sweet. I can't forget the tissue.
i am so happy for both these actors to be getting leads in movies. they are both very talented in my opinon. i havent read the book but i'll try to get to it before the movie comes out.
OMG - this looks AMAZING!!! I love Eric & Rachel, and the premise of the movie sounds so interesting. I cried during the trailer, so I am sure the actual movie will make me turn on the waterworks. I have to read the book first!
at first I thought it looked a little too melodramatic... but now i'm practically in tears!!
Yay, I was starting to worry about this movie...but it looks like Rachel McAdams will be perfect.
i loved this book!!! i cant wait for the movie. i think it will be difficult to translate the book onto screen though
This is so not something I would normally read or see and parts of the trailer are a little iffy ("Will you marry me?" "No. I'm kidding!" - - seriously?) but I love love Rachel McAdams and the whole movie looks beautiful! Maybe a 2nd weekend see, if reviews are good.
The trailer focuses too much on their domesticity. I really hope the film itself has more depth than this and reflects the book more.
I suppose the trailer has to be like this in order to reach the audience that haven't read the book.
looks amazing!
it's got me all excited now!!
I loved, loved, loved this book!! I'm very interested in how the movie turned out. Glad I don't have to wait until February.
i think it looks amazing!! i want to read the book first, if I can.
This looks beautiful! I'm definitely going
i'll see that!
now all you brangelooonies go support this movie brad pitt produced it
I just started crying watching the trailer! And now I really need to read the book. But same question as with Shutter Island...should I wait to read it until after I've seen the movie? Every time I read a book before seeing the movie, I am always disappointed with the movie.
I am so scared that they will wreck this. The trailer made me cry but that's only because I love the book so much.
AmandaKrups I think you answered your own question. Based on your history, you should probably read the book AFTER seeing the movie.
Am wary of this too but the end of the trailer already brought me goosebumps. I loved the book but it made me cry so much!!
OMG!!! this was soooo awesome...i don't have words,i just want to watch it right now,i hate this release dates haha...i love eric bana since his incredible role in "troy"!!!!!!!!!!
finally ... was wondering how come it was so late ... waiting and waiting ... this book is one of my all time fave !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re-reading again and again
@clara : you should absolutely read the book, maybe you can watch the movie first incase you get disappointed with the movie ... after reading the book first...lol
It was much much better ...
it usually is the case. For me, the first few chapters was abit hard, but once you get into it, it flows better and the story is so great ... the first time i read it, i didn't get to the ending, as i didn't want it to end .. and left it for so long ... so i reread it again till the end the second time
Yeah, but if the movie is well made and not changed too much from the novel, then it won't disappoint me. But usually movies are not nearly as good as the books.
The book is on my reading list... but I wish they had filmed in South Haven. Bella high-school town represent!
i imagine Alba to be smarter looking .. lol.. but i like claire's younger self
Very cute and pretty girl.
Read the book! Read the book! Read the book! Read the book!
It is just... perfect. Though it was tough to read the last 80 pages through my tears.
This trailer looks good but I have doubts... I don't want the film to spoil the book.
Looks great!
this has been on my reading list for while, but i think i'm going to move it to the top!
One of my favorite books of all time. I'm seeing this the second it comes out. To everyone: You MUST read the book!
One of my favorite books! It's one of those books that you think about long after you read it. The trailer looks good but I am hoping that they stayed true to the book. If you have not read the book yet, READ IT!
I love this book and I'm so thrilled that the trailer is so good. The movie better be amazing.
Oh wow! I can't wait. I think the trailer was a little hokey, but they're trying to appeal to the masses, not just those of us that have read the book. I definitely shed a few tears with the bathtub/Alba scenes.
I think i'm going to go against the grain- i absolutely love this book, it's probably my favorite of all time, and i was excited to hear about the casting of Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams- but this trailer looks so cheesy. Yes it's a love story, but it's also a bit more meaty and gritty, especially when they just meet, and then toward the end- I expected the movie to look a litter darker, and the soundtrack to be edgier- not soft rock. I hope in this trailer the have tried to make it look a more traditional romantic film to get bums on sets, but the actual movie is a little tougher...
finally! i've been waiting for this movie ever since i read the book. i love rachel mcadams, but i still wish they chose someone else as henry. oh well though! hopefully it's good!
Wow, it looks amazing, I had some reservations about this movie when I heard about (obviously from not reading the book) but now I want to read the book and see the movie it looks extremely interesting!
I have been waiting for this trailer forever.
It looks like a great movie, can't wait to watch it!
