We've seen how The CW rebooted 90210, but how will it do with its return to Melrose Place? The network just released a new trailer that gives us our first extended look at the new residents of the famous apartment complex — and I have to say, I'm getting a little excited.

The thing is, I've been jonesing for a show about people in their 20s — Greek's characters are a little young for me, but How I Met Your Mother's are just a smidge too old. So while the rich and ritzy folks of Melrose Place aren't necessarily realistic, I'm still excited to see a show that focuses on people starting out in their careers, contemplating marriage, and basically doing all the other things that folks in their 20s do. And if that gets done with a soapy sheen and a hearty dose of CW glamour, then so be it. I'm not saying this Melrose will be the show of my dreams, but I'm certainly willing to give it a shot.
That said, a few of the twists in this preview (including, uh, the big one at the end) make me wonder a bit about the show's direction — but hey, I guess intrigue is good at this point, right? To check out the longer trailer and another new preview, just read more.

It is like Gossip Girls gone young professionals. Kindof hard for me to take Ashlee Simpson's acting seriously, but I might check it out just for the heck of it.
1I'm not gonna lie, I'm excited now. At first I was all "No! Don't do it!," but it looks like it might be just the soapy crap that I watch now, in a good way.
2Oh, Buzz, you're missing out if you don't watch Greek or How I Met Your Mother. I'm 26, so the characters in Greek are younger than me and those in How I Met Your Mother are older than me, but they are both amazing shows. Probably two of my favorites. They are both so well-written and so funny. Give them another chance and I'll give Melrose Place a chance.
3Is that Ashley Simpson singing during the extended preview? Also Buzz, Ashley's character is only 4 months out of high school, so she can't be more than 19. And she appeared to be talking to someone she had known for a while, so that person is probably also not in her 20s yet either. So a bunch of these characters might actually be the same age as Greek's characters (or younger). And Greek is certainly better than this preview appears to be. (Side note: the guy who sold his movie because he caught the other guy making out with his daughter's friend is actually on Greek, so I guess now I know that he won't be on the show next season.)
4Pretty excited! Ashley's talking voice always shocks me for some reason.
5mmmm, already looks better than 90210, I'm into it.
6i love melrose place 1 and 2.0
can anybody help me i search for the name of the songs in this extend preview can anybody help me and say me the name of the songs
7I was too young for Melrose Place's heyday, so I can't accurately compare the two versions, but this looks pretty interesting! There are so many serious issues going on here. I adore the actor who plays Max on Greek too
He'll make up for
Ashlee...
