Goodbye, fair pie-maker. Goodbye, alive again girl named Chuck. Goodbye, snarky, shady PI and singing itty-bitty waitress. Tonight's the night that Pushing Daisies comes to a close.
It's still a bummer that ABC let this whimsical gem of a show go — but in all honesty, I can't say I'm surprised. From the beginning, it seemed like the kind of show that was going to break my heart, destined for critical acclaim, a niche audience, and premature cancellation. In fact, looking back, the true miracle seems to be that we got two seasons out of it at all, even if they were both shortened (one by the writers' strike and one by ABC's axe).
Tonight's episode, "Kerplunk," wasn't filmed as a finale and doesn't feel like one, but it does have plenty of satisfying moments, especially where the aunts are concerned: They become a central part of the episode's investigation when one of their former swimming rivals goes down at the hands of a shark during a performance. And with a comic book on the way, I'm just glad we'll be able to see more of Ned, Chuck, Emerson, and Olive in any form.

I will be watching, although it is so so sad and bittersweet!!!
But ,I have to disagree Buzz, I didn't feel like this show was destined for premature cancelation. Although I can easily see that as having been the case, I think it was the opposite. In the beginning the show had both critical acclaim and a moderate audience (ABC's whole Wednesday Night lineup did). I think the writers strike ruined it for Daises (and Dirty Sexy Money) and the show was never able to pick up its steam again
If it weren't for that, I feel like it would
not be canceled, and the show would live on!! I STILL blame the writers and am mad and bitter

Happsmjc -- I completely agree that the writer's strike killed a lot of good shows, but I also agree with Buzz that it seemed like a show destined for premature cancellation. Pretty much any show that is high concept doesn't last long. LOST is the exception to that rule.
2This is why I'm not going to watch network TV anymore. They can't stick with the truly good shows and instead support crap like Grey's Anatomy, or God help us, Scrubs. I'll stick with cable from now on.

4I watched it some time ago and I have to say that it was pretty satisfying even though it wasn't planned to be a series finale. It's obvious that they added some stuff in the end that shoud have been explained better but I still think it was great.

I DVR'd the series finale. It's so sad. It feels like Wonderfalls all over again...
6I am so sad!!! My 7 yr old LOVED this show...it was his favorite show "Is the pie man coming on?". It was a murder mystery show that was tame enough for my little "tough guy" to watch. And I really liked it too! It made him feel like a grown up and me feel like a kid.

8I'm so sad that Pushing Daisies is over. It had so many wonderful aspects missing from modern day television. It's a fairy tale, comedy, love story, and mystery combined in a candy colored world. I will miss it.
9This is my favorite show of the past really long time and I was/am sad to see it go. Before it came on I had heard about it and I thought it sounded interesting so I watched it that first night. Imagine my surprise when I realized I had never seen a show like this! The only TV series that I watched and NEVER missed an episode. Too bad something so unique and captivating came around at the wrong time
Oh well, at least I'll have the DVD's I can re-watch over and
over.....
