Recently, a bunch of TV executives tackled the question of whether TV needs to have a "family hour" — and, for the most part, decided that such a thing is a relic of the past. Some said developing shows like The Cosby Show is just unrealistic in this era, especially because parents and kids might watch TV in radically different ways.
That got me thinking about shows I used to watch with my family when I was younger. Though watchdog groups like to protest it, The Simpsons was generally fair game for everyone in my house, and I also remember curling up on the couch to watch Family Double Dare.
What about you? As a kid, did you watch any shows with your parents and/or siblings? And, if you're a parent now, does your whole family watch anything together?

the television i really remember watching when i was a kid was the morning and afternoon cartoons with my family friends like sesame street, power rangers, sailor moon, captain planet or full house.
1but now my mum, sister & i usually watch idol or sytycd or dwts together and i usually catch ncis or the unit with my dad & brother and then criminal minds with my mum and dad
sometimes we do - but i feel like we have different tastes that sometimes it's easier to just watch in different rooms. my husband will watch the shows that i want but he changes the channel SO MUCH because he can't stand commercials and it's really annoying, so i'll typically opt to watch in the bedroom and we'll be watching the same thing but oh well.
2We tend to watch reality shows together – coz what can be worse than having a go at the idiots on Amazing Race or the egos on ANTM without a sounding board/audience?
But often its much more fun to immerse yourself in a great show all on your lonesome.
3Back in the day, we would always watch Star Trek: TNG together. But beyond sports, that was really it.
4My family watch a lot of TV together- sports, CSI, BBC specials like 'From Larkrise to Candleford'
ha or The Apprentice usually has us hooked and provides reason for enough debate!
My mum and I also always watch Gilmore Girls and Gossip Girl together.
5We continue to watch Seinfeld together. We watch TV together in general a lot of times, no matter what is on.
6We all watch Top Chef together actually, haha!
7When I was a kid, we used to watch all our TV together -- Seinfeld, Friends, Full House, etc. I even remember watching 90210 with my mom
.
Now my husband and I don't really agree on very many shows. He loves sports/news and I love scripted TV. But we always watch Weeds and LOST together. We frequently suck it up and watch each other's things.
8When I lived with my parents, we watched EVERYTHING together. My parents had this lovely habit of muting at commercial time so we could "talk", thereby spending even MORE time together. :0)
9i also forgot to add Masterchef! Ever since the first season started down here in Australia my family have been hooked and have actually spent less time eating out (which wasn't alot to begin with) and started experimenting with the techniques and recipes they've shown, and apparently so has the rest of Australia!
10Only Lost.
Otherwise my Mum and I sit in a different room than my Dad and brother.
