Another day, another few tidbits of news from the set of The Dark Knight. For starters, remember this guy from The Breakfast Club?
Well, Anthony Michael Hall (a.k.a. "The Brain") is all grown up and has now been cast in The Dark Knight, though apparently he signed a confidentiality agreement and can't reveal which part he's going to play. Rumor has it, however, that he'll be playing Mr. Nygma, a reportedly "good guy," though fans of the Batman comics will know that Mr. Nygma is actually The Riddler. All I know is it would be funniest if Hall reprised his role as Brian the Brain in The Dark Knight. This movie could use some comic relief.
Mattel has also announced that they will be releasing a frenzy of toys, games and puzzles based on The Dark Knight. ComingSoon reports:
Mattel's action figure line will feature Batman and the new Batsuit. Tyco R/C vehicles bring to life the speed and action of the Batmobile and the new Batpod. Additionally, Mattel will release a line of games and puzzles that will capture the film action through board games, puzzles and a special-edition UNO card game.
A special-edition UNO game! I'm so there.

Oh I love how the studios are retooling the Batman franchise by using new faces or at least not ones that are predicatable like Jim Carrey as the Riddler in one of the Batman moviews. Well, duh. Why wouldn't he not be The Riddler?!

This movie officially has the most badass cast ever! Christian Bale, Nestor Carbonell, Gary Oldman, Michael Cain, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Morgan Freeman, Heath Ledger and William Fichtner?! So this film will have The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker?

6I wish Hollywood would let this franchise go into a coma for a while. Batman fever is over. I'm even done with Spidey, The X-Men and The Fantastic Four by now. I need some good chick flicks like Steel Magnolias and 9 to 5!
7I cannot wait for The Dark Knight! Christian Bale makes a great Batman and I'd rather see him in this than some chick flick, no offense mwmsjuly. I'm not a huge fan of the other superhero flicks, other than the first two X-men movies, but love Batman.

Bookgirl, it's like you and i have have the same taste on superhero movies; sick of the Spiderman, Fantastic Four ones. But love, love the firt two x-men movies and Christian Bale's take on Batman.
Phil i do think this superhero movie has baddest cast ever; possibily beating the x-men cast. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine was perfect so was Rebecca R. as Mystique, halle Berry as Storm, Famke Janssen as Jean Grey...okay i'm going to stop right now because i think i just turned from a shopaholic college girl to a "comic book nerd."
10Not there is anything wrong with being a "comic book nerd", but people usually find it strange that i have such vast knowledge on sports and comic books/anime.

13I totally remember Anthony Michael Hall from Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles. I'm glad he'll be in the next Batman movie. He'd make a good Riddler.
14anthony michael hall? what, wasn't david caruso available? ricky schroeder? i want some of the drugs that the casting agent was taking when they made that heinous decision. yikes.
15Cillian Murphy is also going to be back as the Scarecrow!!! Bale and Murphy are sooooo gorgeous and talented! I think that the Joker, Riddler, and Scarecrow should spill over into the 3rd movie to create the League of Villians (I forgot the actual name for them).
