I'll admit I wasn't totally on board for the film adaptation of Eat, Pray, Love when it was announced that Julia Roberts would play the lead role, memoir writer Elizabeth Gilbert. I like Roberts, but this seemed like some odd casting. Gradually, however, I've been warming to the project, as director Ryan Murphy (creator of Popular and Nip/Tuck, director of Running With Scissors) signed on, and Richard Jenkins was cast. Now that Javier Bardem is in talks to join the project, I'm full-on interested.
Bardem would play "Felipe, the man Gilbert meets and falls in love with on the final leg of a journey of self-discovery that began with the end of her marriage." In my opinion, Javier Bardem is sex on legs. I will watch pretty much anything he's in, and I look forward to seeing how he and Roberts play off one another. What do you think?

Vivienne Westwood
Petite Mendigote
Miss Selfridge
That sounds like good casting to me for sure
1he would be the PERFECT choice! love that.
2He is gorgeous and hot as hell and I love watching him in anything BUT I have seen photos of the real Felipe and he is nothing like Bardem. For once he is quite older (maybe early 50s?) and average looking. But then again, Julia Roberts does not look like Gilbert, so I suppose that's not a big issue.
3that might actually make me want to go and see it. i love JR but i think that she may not be enough to get me to go - but JB is one of my FAVs these days
4Nothing can make Javier ugly except Julia Roberts. He's hotter with the bad haircut in No Country than next to her.
5He definitely makes more sense than Roberts. And I'll probably see the movie, just wait for it on Netflix.
6Now I'm interested!
7Hmmm Javier "smoldering sexy" Bard- what was this post about again???
8This director pretty much ruined Running w/ Scissors. I certainly hope he does a better job with this book.
9Javier's an outstanding choice for Felipe, and that would pretty much kill the idea of Roberts in the lead ... since one of the major dilemmas in their romance is Felipe being so much older than Elizabeth.
10I will see it, for sure!
11Isn't he much younger than Felipe is in the book?
12I love Javier but I don't buy it.
sex on legs love that.
13"sex on legs" LOL
I've never heard of him so I don't know. And Kell_e he does look younger than the real Felipe. I loved this book and I'm not sure I'd like a movie made about it. I'll probably skip it but who knows.
