How cute is this? Amanda Seyfried and Gael Garcia Bernal are teaming up to play a couple in the Italy-set romantic movie Letters to Juliet. They're joined in the cast by Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero. The story is based on a book "about the letters written by the lovelorn to star-crossed lover Juliet Capulet." Here's more:
Story follows a couple (Seyfried, Garcia) who take a trip to Italy and receive a note meant for Juliet written by a woman (Redgrave) searching for a young man who romanced her during a long-ago vacation in Italy. The young woman scours Tuscany to find the older woman's long-lost love (Nero).
The production company behind the project is none other than Summit, home of the Twilight movie franchise, so we know those folks are no strangers to the whole star-crossed lovers thing. i'm not sure that i can picture it just yet but i think that it could be cute. it's not going to be one of those really wide spread loved movies - but it sounds like it could be sweet.
1I could be wrong, but I think this unites another onscreen couple: Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero played Guinevere and Lancelot, respectively, in the movie musical "Camelot."

4Well, Gael is a fine actor and Amanda S has a very promising career so far...she has gone from strength to strength. Someone mentioned that this unites Redgrave and Nero from Camelot, I think that's a big deal. I can't picture it quite yet but the actors all signed on to it (people have made mistakes) but basically these are all talented and respected (or soon to be) actors so to get to the point I think it does sound promising!
5so they must see potential in this project is what I wanted to finish saying. And I would think it does, not sick of a Romeo and Juliet premise and it might be a small film. Cool.
