Team Darlton (Lost producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse) have confirmed that Claire (Emilie de Ravin) will, in fact, be back as a full-time series regular for the show's sixth and final season. Cuse stated mysteriously, "Damon and I are very excited to bring Claire back to the show, and even more excited for people to experience just how she will return." How?! How will she return?
At any rate, this is good news for Lost fans, since, according to a post on EW's Popwatch, the mystery of where (when?) the heck Claire is is one of the topmost burning questions for fans (right up there with "what's the deal with the Island's Egyptian-themed ancient history?" and "what's Richard Alpert's backstory?"). As the ever-clever Lostologist Doc Jensen speculates, maybe next season will be devoted to the question "Who's really alive and who's really (un)dead?" and Claire will be a part of that puzzle.

2well if they all land safely in LA then we'll see Claire return just like everyone else! But she's prob dead and Jacob brought her back to life kinda like Locke - I mean she did explode in Dharmaville no? SO I guess she'll be an undead?

4My theory is that Claire died when the rocket hit her house in season 4. When Sawyer "rescued" her from the rubble, it wasn't really her, it was a version of her. Like Christian Shepherd or Locke.
5I have no theories, but I'm glad that they're at least answering the question. They sort of left it behind this season.
6I love Doc Jensen, that guy walks the fine line between genius and insanity. I think the idea that Claire is dead, but is back through impersonation through an island entity(a la Locke) is the most interesting theory.
7I love Doc Jensen too...and he may be right! We really could be in for a zombie season, like Cuse and Lindelof have always joked about.
8Why do we have to wait so long?? I need lost!! I'm glad Claire is coming back, I always liked her, but seeing her makes me miss Charlie!

12Whiplash, I like your theory about Clare being undead! That hadn't occurred to me. I've wondered if fake Locke is in Christian's body trying to take her away from her friends for some reason...
