I've been dismissing the TV spots for 1408 because it just seemed a little on the cheesy side, but that was before I saw the full trailer. This creepy little preview actually made me jump several times. And since we were just talking about our favorite horror films being the ones that are ghostly and freaky but not full of torture and gore, 1408 seems to more than fit that bill.

Based on a short story by Stephen King, the movie follows Mike Enslin (John Cusack), a writer of horror fiction (familiar, eh King?) whose young daughter dies. Mike scoffs at the idea of paranormal activity and goes around discrediting allegations of ghosts and hauntings. However, when his work leads him to a haunted hotel room (with the room number 1408) where "nobody lasts more than an hour," Mike starts to experience things he never knew were possible. Samuel L. Jackson plays the hotel manager.

I LOVE TUDORS . THE FASHIONS ARE AMAZING. J
1I can't wait to see this! I love John Cusack.
21408 does look good. Thanks for the posting, Buzz.
3I so cannot wait to see this movie! I love the ghosty horror flicks, or horror that delves into the supernatural in general. And IMHO King is at his best in that genre. And John Cusack and Sam Jackson can do no wrong. So this looks like it is going to be AWESOME!
4sick, I know my husband is going to drag me to see this, and whatever I catch looking at the screen through my fingers I'm sure will be very good
5I am interested in seeing this movie. Maybe it will be a rental, though. There are so many movies coming out this summer that I want to see but I don't have enough money to see them all. lol
6Stephen King and Wes Craven are the masters of horror. I really want to watch this movie.
7i am going to go see this....i hope it is decent because ive been sooo disappointed lately!
8I can't wait! I think I first saw the trailer when I went to see Premonition (pheh... except for Sandra Bullock) andh ave been excited about it ever since! I love Stephen King's work (him being a Lost fanatic just makes him that much cooler!) and I love John Cusack so this film can't go wrong. It's already getting some incredible early reviews.
There have been some incredible films this year!
9Cree-py...I'll probably see this one, I want Cusak to redeem himself in the thriller realm from "Identity".
Just saw the trailer for "Joshua"--super creepy--that one is "the good son" on steroids and looked well done. I was freaked just watching the preview.
10Um...I'm scared. Why'd I watch that!
I don't like scary movies. *curls up in ball* I don't even like watching them with a guy! I have a hyperactive imagination!
*mumbles* It still looked good. :/
11I really want to see this but I think I'll get too scared to sit through the whole movie. I used to LOVE scary movies and be able to watch a super scary movie in a dark room by myself but now I even get freaked out over commercials and trailers haha hopefully I'll get the balls to see this cause I think it'll be worth it!
12I'm going to see 1408 tomorrow, and I hope the movie is scarier than the trailer makes it out to be.
